Yeah, surely there's no one who could emulate big Jan.
      Are we winning?

I like Xabi but I don't understand why Journos would ask him the same thing again and again and again. He's decided to move on, so shall we.

Arguably Rafa's best signing. And in percentage terms we made more on his sale than any other Rafa player (I think!).

Great player, but even before the Barry link he'd started moaning about losing money due to the strength of the pound against the euro. He was hoping to move back to Spain then, the Rafa thing gave him a good reason, but money was the main factor imo.

It was about the British tax laws not about the conversion rate, and he had every right to raise the issue. You don't ask, you don't get.

He didn't particularly carry on about it.

                          xabi =

what a true world class guy - on the pitch and (from what stories are floating around and the manner in which he speaks) off it too.

still pisses me off more than almost all of our player sales - owen to madrid, mcmanaman to madrid, hyypia to leverkusen, murphy to charlton etc....(not as painful as fowler to leeds but its close)

if there was any way to get him back id beg the club to move heaven and earth to do so. a monumental **** up to consider selling him to free up funds and one which backfired on us.

wish him nothing but success in his future career even if not with us.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

We miss the Alonso from his last season, the two season prior to that were very hit and miss and i can't blame Rafa for wanting to replace him at that time.

It certainly lit a rocket under him and he played his way to a move to Madrid.

                              Great player, sorely missed.
                              We come not to play.

He did moan about it in The Times though. Did he need that little bit extra money?
