Not buying it. What is £2.5mil in the grand scheme of things with the rebuilding. No quotes about needing to sell. Its always something that irked me. We were not a selling club at the time and money was not as tight as it was 2008-2010.

Meh I dunno, its a nothing point anyway. Were arguing over the Fulham captain

It was widely accepted/reported at the time. The Echo had the same line, it's straightforward. We had to sell to raise the funds.

It's also often about the wages of the player as well as the transfer value. The players we bought in to replace those who left were generally much better any way.

When Kenny was with us before it was a time before every word uttered was reported and analysed.

I have to say I am very impressed by everything he says and especially how he handles the modern media. Some of things about spirit and team building has been truely inspirational and you can see why the man is a living legend.

I actually agree with Murphy, we've had some chokers in recent times. At the start of last year against spurs when we'd finished 2nd previously it realy showed with Carra and Skittles injuring eachother etc. We certainly need to prove that we can continue to perform with the pressure of expectation. Most recent successes have been as underdogs and we nearly crewed up against Brum and West Ham when expected to win.

Never heard anything positive from him, other then when Rafa got sacked and Roy got hired.

I used to think he was knowledgable and a decent pundit.

I think he will go on to have a very successful career as a Sky pundit. For a footballer he is quite articulate and very comfortable in front of camera. He also does seem quite knowledgeable about football if you can excuse anything Hodgson related. It’s a shame he’s let his bitterness and xenophobic tendencies dominate most of his opinions on LFC.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Read what he's actually said here, it's hard to argue with!

Kenny of course has to back his players, but they haven't had to deal with expectation yet. It's something that has hurt other clubs and various stages, Arsenal especialy. All Murphy has said is that it remains to be seen how we will deal with that different type of pressure.

                      Yeah that's a fair point.

His xenophobia certainly clouds his judgement.

Moores wasn't exactly the man that gave away money. The only money he used out of his own pocket to finance a player was when we signed Kuyt for £10m. He loaned the club the money plus interest and got it back after Gillett and Hicks bought the club.

£2.5m was a lot of money for us at that time.
