Seriously Matt, I think Baines is the best LB we could get for one reason....Carroll. He puts in some great crosses for Cahill at Everton and I think he could be very good with us. I'd prefer him to any left back we've been link with tbh.

Tough one that because there's a few out there, i certainly agree about Baines though, quality player who would be awesome for us but, Blue****e would make it extremely hard to do a deal with imo.

I honestly would not be bothered if we did not sign anyone. But got Rid of all the deadwood at the club. Every single one of them. That would be a good summer.

I'm reviewing my answer. If we just get rid of PFK, CFP, BFJ, JFC and MFJ I don't care much who we get in it will be a good summer, it pisses me off knowing that we are paying them huge sums for nothing.

Kenny and FSG wont really be judged by the summer.

If we finish in the top 4 next season it will have been a success, whoever we buy.

I think Baines is a decent player, but I question him defensively and I can't imagine the price for him being even remotely sensible.

That's the case for most English players, although I guess how desperate Everton are for cash may come into it, and perhaps make the figure (a little) more realistic.
