8 players of the 25 man squad must have spent 3 years in England or Wales and been registered with an English Club between the ages of 16 and 21.
As it stands (before any incoming transfers) take Shelvey and Spearing out of last years squad and we don't qualify.
The rule only limits the number of non-homegrown players to 17, you don't have to have 8 homegrown players, but your maximum squad size is reduced as there has to be 8 spaces available for home grown players. (For example you could have 17 non-home grown players and no homegrown players but you are stuck with a 17 man squad.)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
The 1st half of this England match shows why we should keep well clear of Parker, he looks completely out of his depth. Mind you, all of them are playing ****.

I'd forgotten that there was an England game on, not that I'm bothered about England

I think it's tough to judge him on an England game at the end of a tough season. He's a good player, but I think taking in to consideration his age and injuries he's not somebody we should be interested in.
