It's not the easiest start some difficult games in the first couple of months, hopefully we can get a good start and get results against the big teams in these games. Who knows what could happen then, too often we've had a poor start and been struggling to get back up there, hopefully not having an early start (European qualifiers) will help too.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Re. Manchester United's opening fixture, it's good to see one internet conspiracy theory biting the dust.
Only another 89 quadrillion to go.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

The start's going to be critical next year. We all saw with Rafa's last season how a few bad results at the start of the season (even in games where we'd played quite well) knocked confidence completely and had the press on our backs straight away. We never recovered from that.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIt's not the easiest start some difficult games in the first couple of months, hopefully we can get a good start and get results against the big teams in these games. With new young players coming in on very high transfer fees, you can imagine how we could very quickly be next season's "crisis club" who "wasted millions" on "unproven youngsters". Cue 'analysis' pieces about how Comolli was not rated at Arsenal or Spurs and how Kenny only had a short-term impact which has worn off.
I know these things shouldnt count (and hopefully wont with our current owners) but it will be much harder for the younger players to be trying to fit in if the club is under serious pressure.
Whereas a few good early results in the big games will really set things up nicely and keep the good buzz that's around the club at the moment going. Right up to that surprisingly easy run-in....

As I've mentioned before, the company that provides the system to draw up the fixtures has a box at Old Trafford. Make of that what you willOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostI'll be ****ing well pissed off if we start away AGAIN.
And yep, the Mancs are almost certain to get Swansea, Norwich or QPR at home.

Fairly tough start and we have to win all the winnable games.
If we can get 24-27 points in first 13 games, we should be in position to really gain some momentum with easier schedule (6 games we should win all) in December.
January hopefully we can continue strong but we do have 3 away games in 4.
February and beginning of March we'll be faced with very difficult 4-game stretch and then after we're going into easier part of the season where we'll have 9 games in a row that we hopefully should not have too many problems winning most of them.
Very doable schedule and as long we as we start in a good fashion we should be in position to get 80+ points this season, which should be enough for CL spot.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
