No it wouldn’t. Teams who employ that tactic against Arsenal tend to get a result – Everton, for example. Arsenal don’t like it and they’re always complaining about teams who don’t let them win. Boo hoo.
I think we should go there with a primarily defensive set-up and frustrate them. Perhaps not ‘the Liverpool Way’, but who cares? We need to get a result.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Obviously not just physically.Get stuck in to allow us to use our skill and stop them using theirs. The way we currently play hasn't yielded much off them either.
Stevie will want to make amends for last year too so we can win it.
I've spoken to a few people who have gone to the new stadium and they all say that, while it is very impressive, there is no atmosphere at all. They say for the fans it is almost like going to an away game and that is something we must use to our advantage.
Arsenal have won 2 and drawn 3 at home this season, if we put them under pressure early we could take them.
"The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."
The teams who have done that have won or drawn against the Arse, so not quite suicidal. I'd still us rather go for a win but by using pace upfront and compressing the midfield, so not all out defense, but certainly tight for the first 45 minutes
No one has won at Emirates this season, so basically teams have gone there hoping to shut up shop and blag a point. I think we're better than that.
Furthermore, those teams have got lucky, with Arsenal creating plenty but not taking their chances. Risky game.
Whichever way anyone puts it, sitting back and inviting pressure from Arsenal in their own back yard is a suicidal game to play. They play the best attacking football and inviting them onto us would be playing into their hands.

By doing that, we're sitting back and the premise will simply be, do Arsenal take one of the many chances they'll create?
If they do, they win. If they dont, it's a draw.
IMO, invite them to attack you for 90 mins and they'll score goals.

By the same token, playing "an attacking game" would also be playing into their hands as they'd rip us apart on the counter.

I would be happy with a win obviously, would be willing to accpt a draw, but we really should be aiming to win the game, not to contain Arsenals threat.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
I didnt say play an attacking game, i just said dont sit back and wait for them to come onto us.
If we impose ourselves and give THEM some worries at the back, that'd be the best approach to adopt. We have the tools to hurt them, so why sit back and give them the initiative?

I just hope Agger is fit enough to start by then ... Hyypia does appear to be getting slower as the weeks go by.
Everton did okay and their back line is hardly full of pace. I think it is incredibly important that Momo has a good game, if he does well I think we will do well as a consequence.

Agreed, and if we can play with the kind of high tempo style that Rafa loves, (Juve at home, Leverkusen,Villa etc) then I think we can unsettle them and score 1st.
We have the players to score enough to win but I think that the 1st goal away from home is crucial for us at the moment, if we go 1 down we seem to lose confidence, unlike last season
So get into the, pressure their midfield and look for an early goal(hopefully)
