Is that the emergency number in Australia? It's very camp.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Joe Cole vows to fight for his Liverpool FC future

JOE COLE insists he’s fully fit and ready to force his way into Kenny Dalglish’s plans after Liverpool FC’s successful tour of the Far East.

The 29-year-old midfielder struggled during his first season with the Reds and has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

The arrival of new signings Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing, coupled with the return of Alberto Aquilani after his loan spell, has intensified the competition for midfield places.

However, Cole played in both of Liverpool’s tour victories over Chinese side Guangdong and a Malaysia XI and is determined to build on his efforts in Asia.

“I’ve been happy with my performances,” he said.

“This is the longest - six weeks - I’ve ever had off in the summer during my career so it’s nice to get going again.

“Now I just want to get started. I feel great physically. I’m happy with how I’m performing and I want to get a couple of 90-minute run-outs under my belt.

“There are four weeks until the start of the Premier League so there’s still some time to go. I’m enjoying it.

“I want to take it day by day. Training has been good. I want to get a little bit better every day.”

Injuries and poor form limited Cole to just 19 starts and 13 substitute appearances last term following his arrival on a free transfer from Chelsea. The former England international started just four matches under Dalglish but he’s desperate to kick-start his Anfield career.

And Cole says the Far East trip was the perfect way for the Reds to begin their pre-season schedule.

“It was fantastic,” said Cole, who played in Saturday’s 6-3 win in Malaysia in front of over 80,000 fans.

“To have that many fans for a friendly game was unbelievable. You see what Liverpool means to these people. It’s my first proper tour with Liverpool and it’s a great way to start the season.

“Everyone has enjoyed it. We’ve scored lots of goals, had no injuries and claimed two wins. It’s been a successful tour.”

Despite the extra competition, Cole has welcomed the addition of new faces to Dalglish’s squad.

He said: “We all know what Stewie (Downing) can do.

“Jordan (Henderson) has come in too and Charlie (Adam) has looked good in the games in Asia. They are all really good signings.”

Ian Ayre: We'll be back, Malaysia

Ian Ayre today thanked the people of Malaysia for the unforgettable welcome the Reds received earlier this week and then promised: "We'll be back."

The Liverpool party arrived back on Merseyside early this morning following a brief stopover in Singapore where they delighted another section of their Far East support with a fun training session ahead of their flight back home.

But it was the welcome the Reds received in Malaysia during the second leg of the tour which will live with all of those involved forever - and the club's Managing Director says even he was surprised by the scale of the passion which greeted Liverpool's arrival.

"It was unbelievable," he said. "I have lived in that part of the world for many years but even I under-estimated how special it was going to be with over 80,000 in the stadium, thousands watching us train and thousands watching us at events.

"Everyone involved - whether it be players, staff or sponsors - were blown away by how great people were and how excited people were.

"It's important to travel that far away to see the level of support we have and it's great for the younger lads or the newer lads to see just what this club means to people and how important the shirt they wear is.

"It took us over one hundred years to get there for the first time. I'm sure it won't take us that long to come back because the welcome we got was one we'll all never forget."

We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
