We're being prudent as well based on FIFA's rules. That is why we're seeing Ian Ayre talking about Man. City.
    Are we winning?

I think we have probably done our bigger deals, certainly unless we see some big sales. I think it is about the right level of investment for this time actually. I'd like to see a defensive change or two but I think it might be better to do that once Kenny et al. have had time to work with what we have.

Given our league finish last season I think people have far too high expectations of what we were going to do in the market. I also tend to feel that too many changes to a squad team can be counter productive. With the exception of left back we have addressed most peoples main concerns in the squad.

We signed Suarez in Jan when we looked like the footie version of the Titanic, what we've done since then is sign the perceived best English players available at massively over-inflated prices. I just think our scouts and club need to work harder, maybe we can't get the fashionable foreigner but they are lots of better players out there than Downing for example. The Suarez signing showed we can still get top class players.
This is not an anti-English player rant I'm just not generally impressed with our signings, is that because of our current league position, scouting network, Cammolli, my idiotic analysis who knows.................but just my opinion.

The signing Im mostly excited about is Charlie Adam. For only £7m I think he's a massive bargain, he's got an incredible left foot, great passing, vision and his set-pieces are generally brilliant. He will add a whole new dimension to our team

I think we are pretty much ok upfront, I think we'll see Dirk Kuyt partnering Suarez or Carroll when required. With Stevie G available he can also play behind the main striker so we have options.

I do think we need a solid centre back though, as Kyriagkos is **** and the others have their own frailties too.

In an ideal world we will also get rid of Cole, Poulsen and Jovanovich and bring in another winger

I am hugely impresses with our signings, I think we have paid over the odds but its not my money . My personal opinion is that we know the lkely hood of winning the league next year is minimal and our main aim is top 4 and as such we have bought the players to get us there, We have bought players who by in large performed excellently in the Premier League.

Mata, Hazard, and many others probably represent to mcuh of a risk at this stage as they may take time to settle and if they did we would then be back to playing the likes of Jovanovic again. We have to start the season well, and with everyone performing and settled thats why I firmly believe that we will get a top top name in January if we are in and around the Top 4,

I find it amusing that people seem to absolve Kenny of any influence in signings they don't like. To me the signings we have made have Dalglish's fingerprints all over them.

I also think people seem to want this to be about individuals rather than team building which seems a mistake to me.

Add Cissokho to what we already have signed up then I will be very happy with the business done. We may need more strengthening if we are doing well hopefully in January.

people have very short memories, less than a year ago we were heading to administration, signings like Jones and PFK coming into the side and little to nothing to be excited about.

Since Jan we've signed the likes of Suarez, Downing, Henderson, Carroll and Adam which is a bloody impressive effort considering where we were.

Undoubtedly we'll have to shift players out of the squad to make space and get people off the wage bill which will free spaces up - we all want signings in the positions that we've mentioned but Rome wasn't built in a day and players will need to leave as well to make space in the squad.

Some of you need to have some patience and see we're building towards a really strong squad but it will take a little bit of time!

We've shelled out 45+ million. I'm sure a good few will leave to balance some of the finances. His mention of loaning players is interesting, seems to suggest they mightn't be able to sell who they want. If we get a LB I'll be happy with our business in for the summer. I've faith in what they are doing, that's for sure.

In context it sounded more to me like wanting to get younger players, the likes of Pacheco, more games to help them develop.

I understand your points and they are valid but I think the Downing signing is what really put my opinion over the top. Apart from the obvious names that turn up in the papers and on the Net there are quality players that I believe we could get for a good price.

Next season will be interesting as there are a lot of teams making massive changes so there is an opportunity for us to take advantage of that but in terms of our summer signings thus far filling me with confidence of us making the top 4, well they don't to be honest.

Well individuals make up a team and I have no idea who is driving the signings as I have no inside info. If a manager signs a bunch of mediocre players then you end up with a mediocre team.

Cissokho would be an excellent signing IMO.

To a considerable extent, but to neglect the fact that, say, Downing is ideally suited to supplying Carroll does an injustice to both. There is also an implication that we don't have a decent side already - I think in a lot of ways the results under Dalglish go a long way to showing what a well set up team working for each other can achieve.

I also tend to think that Downing is a lot better than people give him credit for. He was certainly one of the better players in the PL last year.

Indeed our current signing are far better than Poulsen, PFK etc but that is also not very difficult to do. In terms of our current financial position we have an opportunity to work and scout a bit harder and pick up better quality players...............that's just my opinion mate.
