If either or both Cole and Aquilani stay and get themselves properly fit then the level of creativity in our squad would look a lot healthier. I hope we don't nurse them both back to full fitness only for them to excel somewhere else.

Cole looked totally shot last season but you never know. Maybe PTP's dream could still be on.

Probably not the place for it but I fancy Aquilani to do well. In fact I'm utterly convinced he will. I don't think Cole has the time left to come back. He looks a few yards quicker but has been so wasteful here. He also seems reluctant to take people on which, given he was seen as the most technically gifted player of The Golden Generation, says a lot about what the past few seasons has done to his confidence.

But he does look brighter and better. Hopefully a few more games will make even more difference.
