Why oh why have we not strengthened the defence?

Our back four is as average as it can get. Agger will be sitting out most of the season injured, Skrtel is average, Carra is still our best defender but will no doubt be sitting a few more games out as he's getting on and more prone to injury and then we have Glen, great going forward, piss poor defensively. Insua coming back is no reason to celebrate, there was a reason we sent him out on loan that some people seem to have forgotten. Kelly looks like he might be something special, but we need to push on and cement our position back into the top 4.

To a large extent though defense is about playing as a unit - so far we have chopped and changed constantly in these two friendlies. I don't think there is anything to worry about yet. I personally think we should have prioritised a CB signing but I can see that what we have has potential to be solid.

It makes me laugh that you're declaring what we need to do this summer because of 45minutes of a friendly in the heat and humidity of Malaysia without most of our first team!! Remarkable.
