Daily Mail nonsense re the scum

I know that football journalists are mainly ill informed piss artists but this is an extract from a Jeff Powell article re Fergiescum in today's edition.

"When he renounced his decision to quit, he talked of one more Champions League crown to equal Busby's two European Cups.

Now he is preoccupied with superseding Liverpool's British majority of those Continental triumphs. Twenty years a long time in football? "

So Busby won the EC twice did he? And if Slur Alex wants to win another four, to take their total to six, on the basis of his performance as manager so far, he's going to have to hang on in there for another 100 years never mind 20.

Well done Copenhagen, now come on you Bhoys !!!

Excellent post. I particularly like the opening line.

It's interesting he talked about wanting to win a second Euopean Cup. Anyone would think his motivation is his own personal glory at becoming Man Utd's indisputably most successful manager. While he's won only one Busby is obviously his equal.

    A vain and shallow man.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He's currently won the same number of European Cups as Tony Barton, Ex-Villa manager.

      Historic.

And Rafa Benitez who only been here 5 minutes, that must wind him up.

Of course it does. His life's work has been winning the CL, and Rafa came and won it in his first year.

What grates him I'm sure is that in all the years he's been there, they haven't got any closer to our haul of European Cups. We were 3 ahead of them when he arrived, and we're 3 ahead of them now. That must piss him off.

My dislike of Fergie has actually lessened the last couple of years. Don't get me wrong, I hate United, but he actually seems like a decent an honest guy to me. We'd love him if he was ours. Maybe it's just that compared to Mourinho he is utterly likeable.
No doubt I will get completely slated for this though as we are not allowed to say anything nice about opposition.

I think you make some decent points.
I'll be honest, I hate Fergie but he's mellowed a bit in recent years.
As a bloke i'm not sure. He's obviously well connected to the Labour party & comes from a strong socialist background. On the other hand, he accepted his knighthood & the way he treated John Magnier over the Rock of Gibralter episode was disgraceful.

Fair comments. So, in short, he's good and bad, much like the rest of us. I think that's probably worth trying to remember.

I can't help feeling though that if Man Utd were our sole important rival, attitudes here may be rather less forgiving.

Yeah you're probably right, hence my Mourinho comment.

Charlton said Ferguson was OBVIOUSLY the greatest British manager ever, yesterday. What a ****in tit

Exactly. Charlton really annoys me. More so than Fergie himself.

I thought he said arguably and then mentioned Paisley winning 3 Euro Cups?

How can Charlton say it differently ? He's been a manure man all his life.
