    God......not this shower again

Anything less than a pseudo-first XI and some questions need to be asked.......at least nearly everyone is there

Apparently these players made the trip:

Pepe, Doni, GJ, Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson, Insua, Carra, Agger, Jay, Adam, Jonjo, Henderson, Aquilani, Carroll, Ngog, Maxi, Kuyt, Downing, Sterling and Sama.

          No Raul again..

Is it a fitness thing with meireles or transfer related?

dunno really, do we? although he was complaining of ankle trouble a week or two ago. quite pleased to see aquilani made the trip although he looks less than pleased himself, so maybe it doesn't really matter

still, if he wants to be there, then that would be cool.

He hurt his ankle few weeks ago but it is surprising that he is not included into any injury updates.

Things died down on his summer move but it is conceivable that something is cooking in that regard.

Stephen Sama signed from Borussia Dortmund during the summer of 2009.

He is a strong, athletic central defender who strikes the ball well and has a good range of passing.

The Cameroon-born starlet, who holds a German passport, has also shown he has good leadership qualities.

He made a slow start in his first year at the Academy, but developed into an important member of the squad as the season progressed, and featured for the reserves on occasion the following year.

Staff in Kirkby are confident he will continue to improve now that he has adapted to life in the English game.

It's a strong squad, no Cole or Poulsen either. You would imagine with that squad we'd put out something close to a first 11.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I just hope we have our strongest available 11 out on the pitch at some point tonight. We need to get the team to start gelling asap and give ourselves every chance of a strong start to the season.
