Thanks. Balls, I don't have ESPN so will have to catch the re-run later in the day. At least I know I don't have to rush back from work now.

Shutting down the infected pc is the only choice available most of the time. It's a pointless exercise trying to beat it & the whiny noise dies down after a while !
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Good to see most of the losers havent gone. Hopefully they dont play with a right winger who can move faster than walking pace when Insua is on.

            Kenny explains Raul absence
            1st Aug 2011 - Latest News

Raul Meireles will miss Liverpool's friendly with Valerenga because of a bruised foot.

Kenny Dalglish welcomes back fit again Glen Johnson, Pepe Reina and Daniel Agger for the match in Oslo, which you can watch live on LFC TV Online.

However, Meireles, Martin Skrtel (calf) and Steven Gerrard (groin) are still absent.

Dalglish intends to step up his side's preparations for the season by giving some players longer than the 45 minutes we've seen in most of our friendlies so far.

He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's great to see Pepe, Glen and Daniel back. There are still a couple of injuries. Raul still has a problem with a bruise on his foot, and there's Steven and Martin.

"There are a lot of lads tonight who'll play longer than the 45 minutes they've played before. We're happy with the level of fitness."

Liverpool have lost successive pre-season encounters but Dalglish is anticipating an improvement at the Ullevaal Stadium.

"You're looking for a lot of things from the game," he said. "You're looking for an improvement in fitness, an improvement in sharpness and an improvement certainly in passing and moving the ball.

"The result is always helpful but it's not always a barometer of what's happening. Various teams and various countries are at different stages and levels of fitness. Valerenga are in the middle of their season so you'd expect them to be fit.

"We'll expect our players to be sharper than they have been because it's another game (on in pre-season).

"They're certainly training very hard and they're looking fit enough. The only way they're going to get sharp is with what they do on the pitch."

Meanwhile, Liverpool's Managing Director Ian Ayre laid flowers in the centre of Oslo as a mark of respect to the 77 people who died in last month's terrorist attack.

Dalglish added his own words of sympathy: "Obviously everybody's aware of what's happened and you have a great deal of sympathy for the people who have lost someone.

"We're here and if they (the Liverpool fans here) can get a wee bit of comfort from seeing the team they support here, then we've done a little bit to help.

"Obviously the people here and closest to it will be a greater help for the people who are suffering but if we can play a small part, then good.

"We've been through some sad times ourselves and any help we can give, I'm sure the club will be willing to do so."
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

                Heggem: LFC can help Norway

Vegard Heggem has admitted Liverpool's presence in Norway for tonight's friendly against Valerenga can help the healing process for a country still devastated by the events of ten days ago.

A car bomb at a government building in Oslo killed eight people while another 69 were shot dead on Utoya Island.

"The whole country is still in shock," admits the former Liverpool defender. "It has affected everyone in a huge way.

"When I saw the pictures on my TV screen I just couldn't believe what had gone on. You ask yourself how this could possibly happen in a small and peaceful country like this.

"It's going to take a long time for people to come to terms with what happened. It will certainly change this country forever."

Liverpool's support in Norway is well known, and a sell-out crowd is expected for tonight's friendly when the Reds will be looking to put on a show for the Scandinavian Kopites.

"I'm really happy that Liverpool are still coming to Oslo to play," added Heggem.

"It means a lot to the club's Norwegian fans when they come to play here.

"Of course everyone is still hurting from what happened here but you can't just stop everything entirely.

"Slowly but surely people are trying to get back to every day life and it's important that as a country we carry on.

"Liverpool as a club is very conscious about values. The club is all about togetherness and that's what people admire about the club.

"It will be good for the people here to come together on Monday and enjoy the game. It's all part of starting to move on."

Valerenga are currently in 10th place in the league table at the midway stage of the campaign, 14 points adrift of the league leaders.

"Norwegian club football is not as good as it was some years ago," Heggem said.

"Valerenga were expected to be serious title contenders here this year but they have disappointed their fans.

"It's a game Liverpool should win quite easily but you have to take into account that Liverpool are in pre-season. Valerenga are in the middle of their season so they will be more match fit.

"It should be a decent test which Liverpool will need with the Premier League starting again soon."

Or he has a serious bruise on the top of his foot and they don't want to aggravate it.
