    McManaman

Was just saying the other day how much I miss watching a direct player like McManaman and whilst watching the Under 20 World Cup I noticed that there is a McManaman playing on the left wing for England and he looks damned good! Getting a lot of the ball, running at defenders and taking shots from distance, it's like going back in time.

After a quick Google it looks like he is a "distant relative" of our Steve and hails from Merseyside, currently playing for Wigan. I must be late to this party as it says he actually started a senior league game for them but never heard a thing about this guy until today.

There isn't really a point to this thread but just my excitement that there is a potential junior version of my favourite ever player, going to keep tabs on this one

Callum Mcmanaman, but he started off at Everton's youth system. He's got a lot of potential.

There is a separate Steve McManaman love-in thread by the way.

Not heard of this guy, sounds interesting!

            Grew up watching him.

He was my favorite player for a long time.

Wow if his dad is called Harry I used to work with a Harry mac in st helens and he had a son called Callum who was with everton boys back in 99 I think , I lost touch with Harry so if that is his son Callum, I will be very happy for them as he put so much time and effort in the hope he would make it.

I always thought McManaman was Scottish.

I'd be pretty certain that was the same player. He was easily England's best player last night, very direct with good crossing and had a few efforts on goal from distance.

I remember this McManaman playing for Wigan reserves against our reserves - he came off the bench. The LFC TV commentators said something along the lines of "Here is a familliar name, Mcmanaman but he's no relation to the former Liverpool player..." .

Well it turns out he is distantly related. **** I hate the LFC TV commentators - they know **** all. He kept saying the word "overcooked" with every bad pass or cross in the game against Valerenga. He overcooked this, he overcooked that pass - he said it at least 20 times. Rant over

Did Ngoo do much in his 20 mins?

After two 0-0's he must be due a start.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
