****, I just got a horrible feeling that this season will be a disaster and it's somehow related to Adam being a automatic starter for us...guys, he is not good enough for 4th is he?

I think Adam will be a decent acquisition; his decision making needs a little bit of tweaking and I think it will come with time and coaching. I would also think the balance he will bring to the team on the left side will also be a massive plus point.

If Aqualani stays though, he should have first dibs on corner duty.

We need to play well today. Every game before this one was just "pre-season" and didn't matter, but this is the last rehearsal, we need to gain some confidence from a good performance to brush off the previous ones.

I can't really recall that match. However, I think Wash has regressed over his time with us - whether that's down to low confidence, I don't know - but bar his purple patch against the dregs of Europe, he *looks* to have the attributes to be a decent player; he looks quick, but lacks that burst. He looks to be skillful, but rarely gets past his man. He looks to be clinical in front of goal, but he often drags the ball when one-on-one. In my opinion, he's not good enough for Liverpool.

With regards to Kuyt, watching him upfront on his own makes my eyes bleed. To get the best out of Kuyt, he needs a partner. I should point out I think Kuyt deserves a starting spot on the right of a 4-3-3 or the right of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1. Anyhoo, back to my point; a Kuyt strike partner needs to be constantly on the move and have a bit of guile. Kuyt being the intelligent player would expose the space made by his strike partners runs - that's why the Suarez & Kuyt partnership worked well.

For me, Kuyt's game needs a strike partner and Wash doesn't have the ability to get the best out of Kuyt.

Unless we're playing Wigan, obv.

That's fair enough, can't disagree too much with anything you said.

Was just pointing out that during that particular game they both impressed individually and collectively, much better than either up top alone and I was disappointed not to see it tried again (although maybe it was and we lost, hence me not remembering. ).
