              I'd go for the opposite. On the bench, come on if we are struggling, but remain there if we're in a comfortable position.

                Start him if he is fit. I want our strongest available XI on that pitch for the start of the season.

                After the mayhem he caused Sunderland last season I am sure their players would be delighted to see him on the bench and not starting.
