Some decent balls into the box, yeah. Needs to get to (or close to) the byline and cross more often from there, so that the defenders are having to defend it facing their own goal, which is infinitely more difficult to do.

His crossing is good though, no?

If he produces that kind of thing on a semi consistent/consistent basis, then yeah i will do.

We could easily have won the game by 3+ goals today. If Suarez hadn't missed the penalty and Carroll's goal hadn't been incorrectly disallowed then obviously it would have changed the game completely. It wasn't a terrible result, I expected us to batter them and we could have if we'd been more clinical in the first half. There were positives to be taken from the game and some players who we can usually rely upon had a poor game which hopefully won't be repeated as they gain match fitness.

Anyway, I thought Charlie Adam did ok. Set pieces look so much better with Suarez, Adam, Agger, Aurelio, Meireles and Gerrard available to take them, rather than Cap'n taking the ball by default. Ok, save for Suarez and his crappy penalty

I'm hoping Adam is the new Gary McAllister. Considered passing, quality from set pieces and looking obscenely old for his age.

I wouldn't say messed it up. I would say that they had to play certain players instead of other players because we need as already been mentioned get some players as match fit we can to be able to sell them.

    Money you know.

I think Kenny and Clarke know how to plan a pre season but other factors meant that they couldn't follow the plan they wanted.

They are also human and can make mistakes and mess up things.
