Can Arsenal appeal the Gervinho sending off, and thus, delay the suspension?

I wouldn't have thought so, on what basis could they appeal?

Despite Barton's theatrics it seems clear cut. He raised his hands and caught him in the face, it's violent conduct and should be an automatic 3 match ban.

For me the only question would be will they deal with the Song incident quickly enough for him to miss our game or not?

I guess we'll find out on Monday but Song, as it appears, will definitely get 2 game ban at least.

Yeah, that's true.

- missed penalty
- should have had a man sent off
- good goal disallowed
- hit the bar

I think we were pretty unlucky all things considered.

That's all true but we have no one to blame but ourselves.

With all that said we should have won that game with ease.

They are average team at best and we were playing at home with all our summer signings and that should have been plenty.

Need to go to London on Sunday and get these lost points back.

Without Gervinho and possibly Song, Wilshire injured and Cesc and Nasri gone and them being involved with CL football on Tuesday, we should at least get the point there if not even more

I think they expended too much energy/nervous energy in the first half for so little reward that they were basically knackered come the second. If Luis hadn't have taken one of the worst penalties I cam remember and Downing's effort had gone in off the bar, we'd have cruised it.

Kenny made a rare mistake in keeping Lucas and Adam on. One of them should have been replaced by Spearing. He is the one guy in the squad that doesn't lack energy and buzz.

Time to really judge is after 10 games, I know that doesn't help us too much, but its more realistic.

Erm, no they didn't. I think only 2 of their new signings actually started the match.

I'm sure there were more than that? Could be wrong though - seem to be making a habit of that today!!

First half showed a glimpse of what we're capable of. If we can play like that on a regular basis, we'll blow teams away. Second half though... don't know what the **** happened. Flanagan completely lost it, which was sad to see. I'm sure he'll bounce back, but I'd like to see Kelly in ahead of him now. Kelly is a better prospect in my opinion.

Be nice to have another decent striker to offer Carroll some serious competition for his place. We need to keep Aquilani - the second half was crying out for someone like him.

yes, there were a lot of negatives yesterday, but as someone said, maybe that will put some pressure off the shoulders.

Of course he had the advantage of doing his pre-season at Newcastle so is about six months fitter than the rest of the squad.
