Apparently he conceded more goals from shots from outside the penalty area than any other keeper in La Liga last season, so it will be interesting to see if teams try him out with long-range efforts this season.

One of them works out who was the best passer, best tackler etc in the Premier League and it turns out that Lucas, who you say had a poor game, was actually the Premier League's top tackler at the weekend. So in his position he was more successful than his equivalent in all the other teams.

I thought Lucas was very good and did his usual grossly under-rated shift of breaking up attacks - and better than anyone else achieved in other games.

The overall performance was also very good. On TV out here it said that in the first half, when Arsenal had 11 players on the pitch, we had 66% of the possession. We were very rarely troubled by Arsenal in the entire match and won a shade cosily. And for all those who say Arsenal were under strength they still had Van Persie up front, supported by Walcott, Ramsey, Nasri and Arshavin behind, so their attacking line-up was formidable on paper.

For what it's worth Walcott was awarded worst player accolade - for all the games played, not just in our game. Reflects well on Enrique's performance
      Interesting.

Certainly what Spurs were trying to do. You can overdo that though & there's a danger most defeatist teams will think "Oh it's the most amazing team like evaa- we have no chance" & not even bother to get into the box at all & just repeatedly tank it Trifon Ivanov stylee.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm not sure that logically follows. I think ideally his position would be about intercepting and preventing runs. For example when Nasri ran past him straight down the middle of the pitch - his role is primarily to make sure that never, ore very rarely happens. For his position it was a bad mistake that directly led to a chance on goal. His is a specialist position and to a less exaggerated extent is a bit like a keeper - what is important is that you make minimal mistakes not how many things you get right.

I'd agree that Enrique was totally on top of Walcott.

My opinion remains that we were heading for a draw pre sending off and until that and the subs happened we weren't creating much for all the possession we had. I don't think I've been a lone voice in saying that either - many of the write ups I have seen have suggested as much.

The subs changed the game as much or more than the sending off - Arsenal are very adept at playing with 10 men as we've found out in the past.

I remember when we played them last season Jack Robinson also had Walcott in his back pocket. Exciting times that we have a young upcoming left back who can learn from our quality, experienced one.

              .

I mentioned it earlier, but if anyone was to blame for that particular move is was Adam. He lost the ball near the edge of the box, so he was well out of position. Lucas then had to push up and Nasri had acres either side of him as Lucas was so exposed and Nasri easily wrong footed him. Lucas wasn’t faultless in it all, but if you watch the whole move again then you’ll find it hard to point the finger of blame solely on him.

IIRC Adam actually did well just before he lost it too. I think he initially won the ball and drove forward, so I wouldn’t be too worried about his part either. Just one of those things, teams are going to catch you on the counter sometimes, regardless of how well you play.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
