The excuses being made for Carroll are getting boring now. We said at the end of the season he was isolated and wasn't getting the service. We have now bought Adam, Downing and Henderson all known for providing good service but nothins changed with Carroll. Instead of making excuses why don't we admit that his movement, anticipation and positioning is poor. He's got to work on this because the way things stand his unsuited to our style of play. I want to see him spot the space and make intelligent runs but he's just not doing it. Sooner or later I can see him being dropped if he doesn't up his game.

I thought Henderson, while neat and tidy, offered very little a lot of the time, especially round the box. I don't think he is ready to be first choice yet.

Obviously it's all gonna take a few weeks to settle down so I'm not suicidal just yet. Great to be able to bring quality on from the bench. Something we haven't been able to do for years. Bolton next the international break. Happy days.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Exactly, couldn't agree more every attacking player HAS to have good movement without the ball in today's game especially at a club with aspirations such as ours and wanting to play pass and move footie. At the moment Carroll isn't doing it, he may well learn but the feedback is based off what I've seen since he's been here.

Good win,Suarez and Meireles the difference,we lacked creativity in attack until then.Arsenal tiring and losing a man was the ideal time to get a fresh Suarez in there.

Carroll poor again for me,we look a far better team, much more fluid, when he isn't in it.Early days for him and LFC but I have my fears it wont work out.

As it was originally meant to be,a fit and Firing Torres in that team with Suarez would be awesome

                - We don't look half the team without Suarez. Having spent 50 million this summer, that's something of a concern. If N'gog goes, I'd like to see us bring in someone who can compete with Carroll and Suarez (and arguably Kuyt) for a spot in the first team.
I think Carroll really needs to up him game in the box. He was very disappointing today. He is strong and powerful but he is so static and constantly is waiting for all the crosses find him exactly where he planted his feet. He needs to go forward and use his strength to impose himself deep in the centre of the box.

I too made the same point about a new striker. Really would like to see someone with pace and trickery like Rodallega or preferably better.

I thought he struggled to impose himself at times. In possession when he tried to do that little bit extra I thought he was found wanting. I don't mind that from a younger player. As I said before though I don't know a whole lot about him so I'll have to see how he gets on after a few games before I say anything drastic on the matter.

Great Result! Even given that it is the worst Arsenal XI you will possibly ever see on a football pitch. But we needed the win, and we won:

-Suarez and Mereiles were excellent and seem to have a really good (almost telepathic) understanding of each others' movements
                  - Carroll was poor again. For someone who is "unplayable" in the air, a lot of defenders seem to deal with him relatively easily
                  - Enrique was solid as a rock and great on the ball

                  Bring on Exeter!

Got to give Kenny respect for the Suarez and Meireles double substitution which won us the game

                          Same here.

Result imo doesn't reflect our performance.

Thrilled that we won but we were lucky first and foremost.

Any idiot could see that Carroll needed to come off & Suarez needed to come on. What won us the game was the worst Arsenal team I've seen for about 20 years!

                              ****ing hell

                              Who's getting carried away?

Has anyone on here claimed we are going to win the league? No.

Just pleased with our first away win at Arsenal in 11 ****ing years!

This is a new team, with lots to work on, but I think the early signs are very good
