Cheers Reece, thought he had played against us, he must have just *been* to Anfield.

IIRC didn't Pepe play against us in the UEFA Cup game against Barcelona in 2000-01 where as the Overmars goal was in the game in the group stage of the Champions League in 2001-02

Yeah you're right, the Overmars goal was in the group stages of the CL. Heskey missed a couple of sitters to go 2-0 up including a 1v1 if I remember rightly.

Update: Yes Reina played for Barcelona when we beat them 1-0 in the UEFA Cup semi final with a Gary Mac penalty

Team news in the match report:

I remember Walcott's run against us in the CL. That was pretty amazing! He set up Adebayor to tap in, but the run was something to behold. It swung the game back to Arsenal. Unbelievable night. One of my favourite Anfield European games.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Lee Chapman - Arsenal and England defender

You can work it out by the grass 'stripes' on the pitch - each segment is 6 yards long and he was JUST inside the 7th segment, so yeah, 7 segments would be 42 yards, he was a yard or two inside the 7th - pretty much bang on 40 yards.

Our version of the Stig rattled one in from out there, against West Ham if I remember right.

Good thread, even if horribly painful and some good goals already mentioned.

Dare I say a scum goal? Giggs lob against Grobelaar in the 3-3 draw was pretty good. Irwins free-kick was a peach too that night. Bung or not, Brucie wasn't saving them.

One of Arshavin's 4 was a belter too, can't remember if it was 1, 2, 3 or 4 but the one where he dribbled it and ****ed it from outside the box.

Olivier Dacourt for the bitters against us. I was there, it was the same game that the ****house Kevin Campbell virtually ended Veggies career. What a cunt.

                                The goal is at 1:30
