    Andy gray...........

I was just watching highlights of the olypiacos game, and i have to admit,i have never heard a commentater celebrate a goal the way he does the Gerrard goal, the way he did.

Was it just the fact that the goal was awesome and no matter who you support, you gotta react like that.

Or is it that he is actually a first class commentater, whose analysis of the game is usually spot on, and we don't like to hear anything negative about liverpool.

I personally don't mind the guy so much.I've sort of grown up hearing his voice commentating, that it just seems to go hand in hand with football as we no it in the modern era.

Is he as bad as some of us think he is?

(i'm prepared for a slateing btw)

If i'm honest, I really don't mind mind. I know a lot of people have him down as a biased ******* - I'm a true blue and I love Man U and all that business. But everyone has their teams, and he just happens to support the two teams we hate. He got on me tits a bit after the whole we're out of the title race thing after that superbowl Sunday or whatever the feck it was called.

But generally I agree with commentary, he's got a good eye, knows the rulebook inside out, and is a better commentator than most out there. Him and Martyn Tyler are the best two commentators Sky have got, and I think they piss all over any commentators from other stations.

With regards to the the Gerrard goal, he had to do an appology in the echo after that in his blue ****e column, basically saying that he was just happy to see 4 english teams through to the last 16 for the first time ever. Said it was good for english footy yadda yadda yadda, but really I think he's just a fan of good footy, and that was a good footy match for the neutral.

WTF? He doesn't support Man U, his other team is Aston Villa.

That was not commentary on that Gerrard goal, that was a celebration any Liverpool fan could be proud of. He totally lost it. I get Goosebumps just thinking about it.

I hate when he goes on about referees ruining a goal by booking a player who's scored in the last minute/his first goal/won the game etc. He's as stupid as the player, they know the rules. The dumb *******s shouldn't do it.

Pity Tyler got axed as first choice commentator really.

Bust up with the men behind the scenes at Sky, apparantly.

Ian Darke is a poor alternative.

Huh? I haven't noticed Tyler demoted in any way?

He very rarely commentats with Gray now. Apparently him and Gray had a falling out. Somthing to do with Gray being a **** of the highest order i believe.

No way? I had noticed him & Gray seem to cover separate games most of the time, although I'm fairly sure they did the Reading-Arsenal game together.

No mate, it was to do with his contract, he wanted a guarantee that he'd be getting the 'big games', Sky refused, thus we're seeing Darke and Gray in action.
