We need to be carrying it forward and crossing it more if Carroll is to be successful, at the moment that's not happening as we're more about quick interplay through and around teams.

I thought all of our new signings played fantastically well and for me Skrtl was a beast at right back!

Enrique and Downing did that plenty of times today but his movement and ball anticipation is poor.

He needs to get better if he wants to be successful.

Our fullbacks and wingers can only do so much to give him the support that he needs and requires and he has to step up.

For now he is not nearly good enough to even start.

It is not slating him to say so; I like Andy Carroll and believe he is a great sub to come off the bench and change the style and pace of the game, but with Dirk and Luis we are ****ing buzzing, same as at the end of last season. I will not slate Carroll-- he is our player and I think he has a lot to say this season-- but look at the first 70 minutes today, look at the last 30 against Arsenal, etc etc. Plain as day. Carroll's price tage is not my problem... we're better with him on the bench.

It may be a tad early to judge, but from what we've seen so far I'm inclined to agree with you.


But besides that, is anyone else really excited for the future? The fire is back in our players belly's and we are playing like we want to win. I'm actually excited to watch us play again and im pissed off its internationals next week. The full team all deserve all the plaudits they get. Excellent performance.

We were very good. A couple of points though.

- Charlie Adam has got fantastic ability BUT he seems to fade away second half. Great buy though.
- Carroll should, at the point in time, be a substitute until he learns how to pass and move like Dirk and Suarez.

Kenny is doing wonders at the moment, may this continue.

Agree with all that (jesus christ what is wrong with me) although re Adam I would like to think that he will get stronger as the season goes on and will fade less and less in games.

Fantastic performance. In our previous games we showed glimpses of the type of football we're capable of playing, but today we managed to sustain it. If we can keep this up, we're going to be up near the top come the end of the season.

Positives
+ Suarez. Again. Just pure, pure class. Messi aside, is there a better player around at the moment?
+ Henderson improved his performace big time today. He really should have played Suarez in when he had all the time in the world. Still, a massive step in the right direction.
+ Lucas was fantastic. I don't think he put a foot wrong all game! Such an important player for us, it's nice to seem return to form so emphatically.
+ Our all round play was terrific.
+ We've got Steven Gerrard to come back into the team...

Negatives
- That backpass that wasn't given has got to be the worst decision I have ever seen in football. It was so, so blatent I really have no idea how it wasn't given. Completely baffling.
- Kelly injured. Kelly is ****ing awesome - he's got to be our most promising youngster since Steven Gerrard. But I'm worried about his injury record. He just doesn't seem capable of staying injury free. I really hope they manage to sort him out, because he could well go on to become a legend.

Good win. Suarez, Enrique and Kuyt brilliant again. Henderson and Adam 1st goals and to many more. Downing very good and unlucky not to have scored. Skittles goal, Agger not injured, happy days.

I'm not sure what Carroll's fitness is like but since him and Suarez have been here I think our best front two is Suarez and Kuyt, they have great movement and we don't hoof balls up to them. I think both this season and last our best football came with those two up front. Maybe that will change when Carroll gets fit but at the moment those two should be our first choice IMO.
