It looks worse than the true story of the game.We have had more clear cut oppertunities and our finishing has cost us.

Good performances from Sterling,Wisdom and Adorjan.they look like some very good prospects.

That's a good result for the wannabes of the future. Puts all their noses out of joint, except Wisdom of course for obvious reasons. Coady, Suso, Silva and even Morgan need to reassess how they can improve (and boy can they).

Our backline of Sama and specially McGivorn with Belford is probably the worst in the NextGen competition. Not just saying that after tonight, I have seen those three play (on TV of course) quite reguarly. Why they've pushed Wisdom out wide I have no idea, and it doesn't work.

I have been impressed by Adorjan, he'll be some player. On the other hand, I have doubts about Suso's ability to run a game.
        Are we winning?

Don't give up yet, we made Lisbon look good in the first half. Shelvey should be put down. We'll do much better against Molde as we showed in the second half.

          Keep the hype for now.

Adjoran could be our own Nasri. He can run games in the way we hoped Suso would.

Sporting Lisbon had 14 players comfortable in possession and technically good, we had 5 maybe 6 comfortable receiving and passing the ball under pressure.
              That was the main difference.

Just proves what a great tournament this is, much better than any domestic games they play.
We had 2 many players, both centre backs certainly who all game tried the difficult pass, forcing it and usually giving it away

Completey agree on Belford and McGivron both very poor and out of their depth.

Sporting have one of the best youth set ups along with barca. Who cares about the score, all about getting experience for the young uns and hopefully some might make it. Sterling looks very exciting. Wisdom too. And the Hungarian lad looks good. By playing against teams like sporting can only help their progress rather than ****ting the likes of southends u18's. Shelvey is a strange one.

Agree with Bob. The best thing about being so outplayed was the football on display. The youngsters now have zero doubts where they need to be in terms of ball control, skill, awareness, if they want to be the next Ronaldo, Nani, etc.

Looking forward to the next set of games and how the players take these lessons on board.

Ah here it is...was looking for a thread on last night

quite enjoyed watching this....A very valuable lesson for our boys last night...

All young lads, talented at any sport are always a little bit cocky and full of themselves so it does them no harm to get stuffed once in a while.

As above the two posters have said...it's a valuable lesson and i think they can only learn and improve from it.

I thought the first half sporting were very good - but 2nd half the liverpool lads battered them and i can't believe they didn't get a goal back - they deserved at least one and they could have got it back to 2-2 - but 3-0 was cruel - but it's early days in the competition and now they know what to expected and what they need to do to get results next time round..

From our lads - Sterling and Wisdom stood out...both excellent - and ngoo when he came on, he'll be an interesting one to watch and see where he is in 3 or 4 years because he is the type of player we could do with at the moment in the squad - big, strong skillful and fast

I did find toni silva infuriating - bit of a headless chicken at times
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Was really looking forward to this match, gutted with the result.

Don’t know why Borrell played Suso deep and Shelvey further forward, it clearly wasn’t working first half. It wasn’t a great showing from Suso, but I was impressed with his willingness to track back and tackle and at times he still displayed his class with a few nice touches and passes.

No surprise to see big Ngoo come on and cause havoc though. How Adjoran missed the open net he set up I’ll never know.

                          Ngoo.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think people will read too much into both where people are played and results. This should be all about development. I didn't see that game but it sounds like we reacted well to being 2 down at half time and played well second half.

In general I think you have to expect greater inconsistency at youth level.
