Still looking forward but would have preferred someone like Wigan - a team that likes to play football but (hopefully) wouldn't be too much of a threat to us currently.

carroll was bought for this type of game......time for him to step up to the plate to be honest.....
maybe because bellamy didn't play on tues night that he might be fit and a good choice for this game????
team selection i would like to see would be:
----------------------REINA---------------------
SKRTEL--------CARRA-------AGGER---ENRIQUE
---------------ADAM---------LUCAS-------------
DOWNING-----------SUAREZ----------BELLAMY
--------------------CARROLL--------------------
with Kuyt, Maxi, Henderson and maybe Gerrard
on the bench, then we could do some serious fookin damage to those cunts......

I would start Coates instead of Carra.
Stoke will play many high balls into our box and that is his strength to deal with balls like that. They will use Delap and his long throws to cause even more havoc in our box.
Carra isn't great dealing with tactics with that. Coates won't have a problem doing that.
It would be different if we played against a team that played the ball on the ground.
This is exactly the type of game will can use Coates in and get him some playing time.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Nah, Coates hasn't had enough time with his team mates yet. Defence is more about discipline than attack and you can't just throw them in, especially against an unorthodox attack like that of Stoke.

Carroll would an utter waste, that is just giving Stoke exactly what they would want. Suarez is exactly what we need in this type of game, something they cannot cope with, intelligent movement.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI think Carroll has to play. Him and Bellamy would be my choice as starters. Give Luis a bit of a rest but bring him on if we need to change things.

What do Stoke want? Playing Carroll does not equal playing long balls up to him. If it does, Kenny is not getting his message through. Bellamy up top with him would give us plenty of movement against Stoke.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostCarroll would an utter waste, that is just giving Stoke exactly what they would want. You need to throw him in at some point so why not do it against a team that suit his strengths?Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostNah, Coates hasn't had enough time with his team mates yet. Carra will get big problems in the air as usual. That is his weakness.Stop the cyberhate

Carroll doesn't offer much else at the moment though. He'll be easy for them to cope with and it'll be detrimental to our play imo.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWhat do Stoke want? It equals that so far this season. We have played long balls up to him a lot when he played and Carroll isn't exactly happy about it to say the least.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWhat do Stoke want? We have played excellent pass and move football when Carroll didn't play.Stop the cyberhate
