Enough of this "Easeh easeh, Who Are Ya" soccer AM bollocks. Thats small time ****e for small time clubs who don't have the history and culture and class us Kopites have. We have our own songs, and traditions. Plus we have wit and class, so we dont need some wank tv show to teach us what to ****ing sing. Enough of the ****ing jester hats and taking fotos during the match. As for the people who leave early... Don't give people who stand up and try get songs going condescending and disinterested looks, join in (Unless of course they are singing the above, or any other small time chants.) I could go on and on... lets just begin by reeducating people about the Liverpool Way.

This isnt a superfan thing, or even a Scouser V OOT thing. Its about ensuring the values and traditions of the Club are preserved for the future. We are lucky to support the greatest club in the known universe. We're not just any club, we are Liverpool Football Club. Unite Redmen!

each to his own mate, each to his own. as soon as you start telling people how to support their team it makes you sound corny, cheesey and patronising - i'm sure you mean well though.

I was watching some vintage stuff on ESPN CLassic this week and in one game, I think it was the 4-0 beating of Leicester in '77, there was a distinct round of "Easy, easy".

I agree it's a pretty bad chant but let's not get carried away with how great everything was in the past.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yep, I saw that too. Although the emphasis was always on the first syllable rather than than the Soccer AM-ified second syllable (crucial difference!).

Used to be a regular thing whenever we went about three up, which to be fair was most games. The difference was it wasn't some homogenised, Sky-sponsored, Pavlovian response, used by every team scoring a goal, in dem days.

Still, it does show that selective memories are alive and kicking.

Wasn't the 'easy easy' chant, back in the late 70s, nabbed from British Wrestling? Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks et al? In fact, wasn't it Shirliie Crabtree's 'signature'...after every 'win'?

Now, generally speaking, I hate the chant, but I heard the 'Easy Easy' shout by hundreds around me in our end away at West Ham recently. But, there was a difference this time...

It was fast-paced, deep, intimidating, hostile and without the chavvy seal clapping or moronic smiles.

            It sounded intense.

            It's a fine line.

The boy Daddy did indeed use it. Not sure which came first though, in a chicken/egg type scenario.

I think I can remember singing it when we beat Stromgodset 11-0 in 1974 (on the very day the fragrant Maestro was born, fact fans!), though I may have imagined that as I was only 7 at the time.

Either way, it's been around a long while.

But it wasn't easy was it? Ironic use is IMO.

I think we are all forgetting something. Supporting your team should be enjoyable. You'll never have 40,000 people agreeing 100% which chants to sing. If a chant starts and people join in then that is their choice. No one is in any position to tell people what they can and can't sing.

Have fun and support your team till the end and more!

Although I do agree some standards need to be set.

                        RTK: BARCA TIMEBOMB NIGHT
                        Kevin Sampson 27 February 2007

In a legacy of great Anfield European nights, next Tuesday’s second leg tie against Barcelona could be up there with the most memorable nights of all.

Even at 2-1 up, the game is delicately poised. Anything, literally anything could happen - and it's down to us, the 'Original 12th Man' to play a massive part in making sure things go in our favour. The players have done their part in the first leg, now it's our turn.

Whether we like it or not, the time bomb is ticking on Anfield. At most, we have two seasons left after this, so every single European night is, from now on, a precious, treasured experience to store in the memory bank. Let's make sure that this, and every Anfield European night we have left, goes off like a nuclear bomb.

Here are some of the things that football's most respected old heads have been saying about our support recently:

                        David Pleat

"Anfield is the only stadium in Britain where the crowd is truly the 12th Man. It's a cascade of noise thundering all round the ground and I doubt Barcelona's players will have ever experienced anything like it..."

                        Bobby Robson

"I think that playing at Liverpool's stadium is one of the most memorable experiences you can have as a footballer," claimed the 73-year-old. "The fans are incredible. It is different. The team belongs to the supporters; it is the team of the city and because of this, they create a very special atmosphere.

"They sing, scream, are noisy and they generate an infernal atmosphere but, at the same time, it is very sporting. Barca can expect to have a bad time in Liverpool. If they go there and do not lose, they will have done well for themselves. The atmosphere that the players will encounter is one of the most stimulating that they could see right now in a stadium. The players will love it."

And they're right. On nights like these, it's not just The Kop that rocks - it's the whole Anfield crowd. Anfield. Say it slowly, because we need to relish every last taste of these electric, deafening, spine-tingling, nerve-shredding, world-famous, tumults of noise and colour that has spread the name of Liverpool Football Club far and wide.

Liverpool versus Barcelona at Anfield - the sudden death, clash of the titans between the last two winners of the world's greatest club competition. It doesn't get any bigger than that. This is the sort of world-stage occasion that has made Liverpool, and our Anfield cauldron, into a worldwide phenomenon. So let's make it a night to remember.

Not just The Kop - wherever you are in the ground, make sure you're seen and heard. Bring your scarves, rosettes, flags old and new. All those classic old banners - from 'Here We Go Gathering Cups In May' to 'What's Up Doc' to 'Wine For My Men' - this is our history, and every flag tells a marvellous story. Let's have them all out on Tuesday and raise them proudly, a living, vivid testament to our glorious Anfield past.

This is one night when we have to get in there early and let the Barca players know what they're in for. When those teams finally walk out onto the pitch, let's hit them with a wall of noise and colour like they haven't known before, and let's drive the Redmen on, all the way to Athens.

                        1. Get in the ground as early as you can, let’s have it rocking as the players warm up.

                        2. Bring those banners, old and new and hold them up with pride, turn Anfield into a cauldron of passion, colour and noise.

The time bomb is ticking. Let's give Anfield the mother of all blitzkriegs - while we still can.

At least the RTK lads are making an effort, no harm in a little rallying cry like this.

If it persuades one more person to bring a banner it was worth writing...
