Johnson has to come on for Skrtel or Carra. We need another footballer out there. We've been very comfortable at the back aside from Carra giving the peno away. Expect to be under the cosh in the second half with the wind behind them. Dirk has done little in the game, maybe a change there and let bellamy harry them. We're not ready for Carroll yet.

Stoke's attacking plan appears to be lump the ball forward, have the striker lean and push the defender and then when the defender does likewise back, fall down.

And their defending plan, when opposition has the ball, run at them like **** as if playing British Bulldogs.

It's tough to string passes together because the pitch doesn't allow it. The grass it really long and the ball is very slow.

Firstly, never a pen in a million years. He should have a look at half time at what he's done there. We've dominated but created little in terms of chances. Lots of set pieces so it's Carroll time methinks. Problem is we could easily get caught on the break. Very reliant on Suarez and I think Hendo, Dirk and Downing need to do more. I'd have Johnson and Carrol on if theres no change 20 minutes in. We absolutely cannot let them score again though. Overall the ref has been ****. A few of these Stoke lads should be booked.

it was a 50/50 at best, vidic, rio, terry have all made similar challenges. why do some fans want to crucify the bloke? you will in the course of a season concede **** goals, we just need to score more. simple.

my concern this season is that when we go behind in a match, we won't have the leaderships or the oneness of mind in the team in the absence of gerrard to prevent the match getting beyond us. so far it doesn't look like we are a team that is able to respond with anything but huffing and puffing. that will come with time, but hopefully kenny can sort something out here in the dressing room, because i don't think we're capable of sorting out a big push when we're on the field quite yet.
