Cops and journalists who prided themselves on knowing gangsters better than the hoods themselves dismissed Moran, figuring that the loss of his top men in the Clark Street garage and Capone's slow but sure absorption of the North Side would either force Bugs out of town for good or make him a vulnerable target that no red-hot seeking a reputation could resist."

I assume that this is the reason!!!!
Kenny reckoned in his book that its Bugsy Malone but ive heard of him being called that before and its definitly Bugs Moran.

Weird - I was thinking about him just a couple of days ago. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Must be my memory that's a bit iffy but I could have sworn that David Burrows was nicknamed Budgie. Long time ago though.

The family of Ronnie Moran have thanked Liverpool supporters for their cards and best wishes after the Anfield legend left hospital.

The former player and coach - who served the club for an incredible 46 years - fell ill earlier this month but is now on the mend.

Moran's family got in touch last night to say he has been overwhelmed by the response of Liverpool fans to his illness.
