Had a very similar experience. Young, gawky ref, completely lost control, got pushed and shoved, and ended up walking off in the 2nd half, crying. One of the lads ended up reffing it.
Next morning I was on my way to work. I lived near a big school and as I walked, I saw him. On his way to school. We knew he was young but **** me, to see him in his uniform was a shock, he looked even younger. He must've been maybe 16 or 17. Should never have been allowed to referee a Sunday league game. Felt so sorry for the kid.

One of the better ones. Met him at a charity golf day a few years back, and he was actually a really nice guy as well - not a media whore like some these days.
