That's Hodge organising the defensive line of the edge of our box and telling them where to boot it.

Liverpool FC: Kenny Dalglish says Luis Suarez is about much more than scoring goals

KENNY DALGLISH insists a few missed chances won’t dent Luis Suarez’s confidence as he hailed the Liverpool striker’s overall contribution ahead of today’s clash with Wolves at Anfield.

The Uruguayan scored in the opening three games of the season but has now gone four matches without finding the net.

Suarez turned provider for Craig Bellamy in the midweek Carling Cup win at Brighton and Dalglish believes that performance underlined his value to the Reds.

“Luis has been fantastic for us since he walked in the door in January,” Dalglish said.

“He wants to play all the time. He loves playing and always makes a contribution. He was involved in the first goal Craig scored at Brighton.

“Some people might judge players purely by goals but we will judge him by results and contributions he makes on the pitch. Whether it’s scoring a goal, creating a goal or saving a goal, it doesn’t make any difference. He will always make a contribution.”

Suarez should have added to his account against Brighton but Dalglish says the 24-year-old isn’t one to dwell on the past.

“Luis is not selfish – he’s very much a team player,” Dalglish added. “He might be disappointed not to score but he was happy with the result.

“There’s nobody who has ever walked on to a football pitch who has never missed a chance.

“It’s how you react to it which is the important thing.

“I probably missed more than anyone else. The next one is always the most important one.”

Brighton’s late consolation in midweek means Liverpool have still only kept one clean sheet in seven games this season.

Dalglish believes this is partly due to changes in personnel with new faces settling in. However, as long as the Reds continue to find the net regularly he’s not overly concerned.

“There is an acceptable level of people getting to know each other,” he said.

“You can’t expect them to be spot on straight away. The most important thing is the approach and attitude, and our approach at Brighton was brilliant.

“It would have been nice to have had no goals against us, but as long as we score more at the other end, we’ll win matches.

“The goalkeeper takes great pride in a clean sheet and so he should, it’s as important for him to have no goals against as it is for us to score four at the other end.

“But if we are scoring four and conceding one then I’m sure we’ll accept that.”

Dalglish knows victory is vital today to build momentum after the slip-ups at Tottenham and Stoke.

Liverpool paid the price for a slow start at White Hart Lane and lessons must be learned.

“We have addressed the situation,” Dalglish insisted. “We have worked on things and have spoken about it. It’s not been brushed under the carpet but we’re not going to dwell on it.”

Martin Skrtel is set to return at centre-back to partner Jamie Carragher. Charlie Adam is also available after serving a one-match ban and is likely to earn a recall in midfield.

Won't be surprised if someone drops a birthday cake on his foot and puts him out for a year.

Great player when fit but has to be let go at the end of the season. No point having a back up that's fit as little as Fabio.

                  He will be next summer.

There is no way we'll be renewing his contract once it runs out.

If Everyone was fit. I'd play this as my Gung-ho formation. Agger to player Sweeper. Heck I'd even stick Pepe in a flying goalie/ sweeper
