Indeed, Jesus we needed those 3 points badly. Wouldn't have been able to stomach another non-win.

      Happy with 3 points.

Still don't get why Kenny is constantly taking Suarez out especially as he is our only real goal threat.
True, and I think Suarez is frustrated that he isn't getting the chance to play alongside Stevie. He needs to just take the decision on the nose. FWIW, didn't he give the ball away needlessly a couple of times? A couple of stray passes, a dispossession here and there, putting us back under pressure. Subbing him and the ineffective Henderson would've been my choice too.

Relieved with the 3 points, didn't think we deserved more than a draw

        Carroll was better today.

Had a very decent game but he still lacks match fitness and not enough stamina to last 90 minutes. Kenny should have subbed him not Suarez.

Should have scored at least couple today.

Good stuff, could have 8 there though a few bad moments too.

Can instantly see how much Gerrard is going to improve us, the moaners seem to forget he's been out when criticising Kenny.

Also, pre match threads most people are lining us up in 4231. I can't recall us ever shaping up like that.

A win. That feels utterly deflating.

                We play like England 4-4-2
                I wish it was a Brazilian 4-4-2

Class from Carroll today. Worked hard, held the ball up well, brought others in to play. Looked fitter and sharper too. I reckon a goal or two and he'll be unstoppable. Seemed to have a good understanding with Suarez. Bodes well for the future
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Decent performance today overall. Excellent first half, and we were once again unlucky not to score after hitting the woodwork once or twice!

                      Positives
+ Carroll had an excellent game in my opinion. Worked very hard and linked up play very well. Unlucky not to score. If he keeps playing like that the goals will come.
                      + Suarez. Again.
+ Gerrard gets a bit more game time under his belt and looked very shapr. I'm really looking forward to seeing him and Suarez playing together.
+ Lucas was superb and ran the midfield.

                      Negatives
                      - We seem to be developing a worrying habit of allowing the opposition back into the match. We're struggling to kill off opponents at the moment.
                      - Henderson had another ineffective match. Not overly negative, as we won, but I'd much rather see Kuyt or Bellamy start on the right for us at the moment.

FFS ! do you really think people hate andy carroll ?

fans have questioned his performances. Yes today was better but he's got to put in that sort of shift every game. No one said he had to score 30 goals but he's got to put in 100% effort.

Good performance from Carroll today. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

Great to see SG back at Anfield too. He looked very sharp.

Henderson needs to imporve a heap to keep dirk out of the team.

Could of been better but 3 points is 3 points and after 2 defeats getting back to winning ways was the most important things.

A look at where we are so far this season compared with the same fixtures last season makes for pleasant reading even if you don't feel like it after todays victory:

                              2010-11 Liverpool 2 Sunderland 2 2011-12 Liverpool 1 Sunderland 1
                              2010-11 Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 2011-12 Arsenal 0 Liverpool 2
                              2010-11 Liverpool 2 Bolton 1 2011-12 Liverpool 3 Bolton 1
                              2010-11 Stoke 2 Liverpool 0 2011-12 Stoke 1 Liverpool 0
                              2010-11 Spurs 2 Liverpool 1 2011-12 Spurs 4 Liverpool 0
                              2010-11 Liverpool 0 Wolves 1 2011-12 Liverpool 2 Wolves 1

I make that 5 more points from the same fixtures this season. I would call that an improvement and progression of the positive kind.

i suppose the fact that carroll got a 90 mins under his belt is a plus.......

however, we are dodgy defensively - i think we should sign Cahill in Jan because carra is past it......

team selection was **** - henderson and carroll shouldn't have started...... maxi not even being on the bench was pathetic......
**** off. only positive is we won? Gerrard coming on and looking full of energy not a plus? We created some really good chances and but for a little luck would be sitting here creaming over a 4 or 5 1. why so ****ing negative. I agree we look light in the middle, but come back and moan if its the same storey in a months time.
