Christ mate, why do you think he tried to punch it rather than just catch it?

    Carroll's presence, perhaps???

Still working progress but we are on 10 points after 6 games, which is definite improvement in comparison to the last year.
true. in a few months fans will remember only a win anyway, not the display, IMO.

        Magic wand, perhaps?

A magic wand would actually help but then Roy didn't have one to give it to
Skrtel. He could actually put in a significant effort to cut down his rash tackling.

Trying or not as long as there's not a lot of improvement what's the purpose?

As I said I'm clearly happy with the win but we could have been much better.

I'd rather look at a set of collective improvements as opposed to one off instances which happen this week and dont happen the next week.

Like Skrtel having a stormer against Bolton(one off) and getting back to his typical ways the next week or two.

As I mentioned, there's not much that we are seeing to indicate that his brain cell sudden freeze therapy is going on well.

If you think he isnt trying to reduce his errors, then you're crackers

While we can't complain about a win, and this wasn't a 'bad' win, whatever that means, it was still somewhat disappointing in the context of recent games. The fans were hoping for a convincing performance, and I'm sure the players felt the same, but it wasn't very convincing. And the problems of previous games were still evident, only less damaging this time. A much needed three points, and there was definitely some positives to take away, but we didn't really show that we are a top team who've just had a shakey start.

It only wasnt a 'convincing' win because we hit bar and post. Could so easily have been 4-1.

Jeebus! I said he was trying but not enough to help him do well. Not hard to understand when he isn't showing signs of improvement.

                        We won

Who gives a ****. First half we were great, second not so much. Is it a pattern? Not yet anyway. Better teams will punish us, but then i doubt we'd be that complacent against better teams. We still need someone to keep the ball and dictate the tempo in the middle but Gerrard is on his way back. Onwards and upwards

He looked ****ing great and is still massively quick. Cant wait for him to be starting regularly, we'll be a different team.

Fact is apart from the bar and post, we didn't do much in the 2nd half when we clearly could have and should have by all accounts. It was a home game and we looked pretty lax.

****ing hell. On another day, they both go in, Suarez doesnt hit the keeper and we win 5-1.

                                Whinging Meldrew, arent you?
