If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

i'm not as confident as everyone else - possibly down to nerves....i was pretty nervous before the everton game too and that worked out ok.....but for big 'grudge' games if you like - ie blue ****e and mancs I am always very very nervy and a bit negative/play down our chances....i think it helps me if we lose, and if we win the buzz is even bigger

I feel we are still just not quite, firing yet - team still seems to be gelling and finding it's feet - there seems to be moments of magic where it clicks but then other times there is moments where we look very poor of the pace...

So it's an other massive game - if we get it right, we play well then we have a great chance....and if we win - well a win away to everton followed by a win against united would be a unbelievable lift and boost, and will pretty much erase the spurs game. And i think we' could really kick on from there.....A loss isn't disastrous, but it would be a big blow nd leave me scratching my head again.

Hopefully, as players seem to start getting a bit fitter and settling, and we get gerrard back in the side to lead the team, we will keep kicking on.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

tough one to call for me at the moment, the international break between the Everton and United games wasn't great timing what with players like Lucas and Suarez having to travel a long way to play for their countries and the momentum gained from beating Everton will have been lost but a bit on the flip side United have started the season really well so the break might have hurt them as well also Rooney's latest issues might leave him in not the right place mentally for the game.

We've got to do what we did last season when Dirk got his hattrick, get at them from the first whistle and really pressure them into mistakes which I think their midfield is prone to make under pressure.

This game isn't the make or break for us but if we can get a result from this I think we can really push on especially looking at the games we've got after this one.

Any reason he didn't play against Costa Rica? Menezez experimenting/resting?

He was rested for another friendly against Mexico on 11th as Mexico will be much more difficult opponent to play against than Costa Rica.

Depends if you've got Vidic & Ferdinand fit, and whether your manager decides to go for 5 in midfield, or just plays 2 out of Anderson, Carrick and Fletcher.

If he goes for 442, our CM could well overrun you. Your biggest threats are Rooney and the wingers.

Has the ref been decided yet?

Not yet. It's usually Thursday or Friday that it's announced, i think.

Andre Marriner will be the referee for the crucial derby - Liverpool vs Manchester United.
No idea who the above is, just found it off a Twitter search, seems to be a Man Utd fan, so it could be bollocks.

                        I hope it's not Webb.

They're all Man United fans, aren't they?
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Marriner - do we have any positive or negative experiences with him from the past? I cant think of anything that stands out. Shaggy will have a dossier somewhere.

                                Liverpool 15/8
                                Utd 11/8
                                Draw 11/5

Considering what we normally do to them at Anfield, 15/8 is massive.
