Agreed. Everything I'd seen and heard of Kuyt over the last 3 years suggested he'd be this good, plenty of great players have average world cups (Henry anyone), and I really now think we've found the man to bury the striker problem at Anfield once and for all. Stevie G and Sami also had good games today.

I'm still not convinced by Pennant, he gave us shape today but I never think he's going to find the right pass at the right time, but that's a minor niggle, 3 more points and 4 wins in a row's much more like it :rock

But we were not at our best. Sami was not bad but we needed to play more quickly out of defence to derail Readings defensive game plan. If Agger played, he could have scored scorchers with the amount of room Reading left for our centre halves to exploit.

He cut inside too many times and laid a ball on for one of the strikers that was badly weighted, making them stretch and end up losing the ball. I thought he was ok today, not terrible or anything and especially against poorer teams like Reading, as I said, he does give us shape. I just can't see what he's got that's special......
