Totally agree with that, Kelly's hardly put a foot wrong and Johnson's return to the side has been sloppy to say the least.Originally posted by Chris View PostAgreed, they should be our 2 for now, would just change Johnson for Kelly.
I actually think, much as we rate Kelly, we underrate him a bit. He's genuinely brilliant already IMO. And RB is apparently not even his natural position. He has all the potential in the world.

Aye, same. I tried to make it make sense and there's been one or two curious decisions re Kelly this season, which I put down to us being careful with him after his injuries.Originally posted by Chris View PostIt'd be weird if he's a bad boy, I've got him in the geek club with Henderson and Lucas! Not that I know any of them of course but he just seems really mild mannered, not aggressive etc.
Flanagan was preferred on the first day, and he's not been on the bench a handful of times when you'd have expected him to be at least a sub. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Why though?Originally posted by danperkins View PostWould be shocked if Kelly had a bad attitude. Doesn't it come across like that at awhile. To me he seems mild mannered and a determined lad, but i suppose what do any of us know. Regardless Kelly over Johnson every time
He was solid since he returned, didn't do anything wrong, 2 clean sheets since he entered the rotation and he gives us way more offensive balance on the right, which is clearly not Kelly's strength.
I like Kelly too just to make it perfectly clear but I don't think the decision to start GJ or MK is our problem.

So what? There'll be another season. Stop being so overdramatic.Originally posted by Arn View Postand the season could be "over" after 13. Every game counts.
People say "I don't know why Kenny is doing this or that or whatever". "Why did he change from last season's style of play?" "Why is Downing preferred to Maxi?" Well I don't know the answers any more than anyone else. Clearly whatever he might be attempting isn't bearing much fruit yet. As I mentioned before, I had my reservations before he was appointed and those doubts have not been dispelled. But I don't see that as a reason to start what amounts to a campaign to put additional pressure on him or the owners.
Just because we don't know what he's trying to do it doesn't mean he doesn't know. Yet your stance is predicated entirely on the belief that if you don't see the plan then there isn't one. I don't know if that's arrogant or just self-absorbed. It might even be both.
I realise this probably means I'm dim or naive or hopelessly blind to his faults but I prefer to assume Dalglish has a plan. Whether it will work or not time will tell, providing he is given enough of it by the internet terrorists and other self-appointed judges of the club's greatest player and once successful manager.
If he fails, as well he might, then he fails. And someone else will have to take it on..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Because i think Kelly is a better player than Johnson. IMO Johnson is not a good defender, horrible positional sense and turns like a bus. Kelly may not be as potent going forward but i prefer my defenders to defend first and foremost, everything else after that IMO is a bonus.Originally posted by Mostar View PostWhy though?

And IMO i think the clean sheets in the last 2 games has got to do with playing weak opposition, CB pairing doing well together, luck and Carra not being in the starting 11.
I agree it's not a priority issue but IMO Kelly should a starter no question. Johnson will be a good squad player.

For me, he has only played 3 games and all those games have been against weak sides offensively.Originally posted by MrNice View PostJohnson has been consistently improving and this campaign when he has played has looking a lot more solid positionally
IMO there is no comparison between Johnson & Kelly when it comes to defending. But Glen does provide a good squad option no doubt.

He's been superb since he came into the side and based on performances, he's first choice RB for me.
Seemed too good to be true...
