Cant see Rafa dropping Reina, nor can i see Carson being content with a place on the bench if he puts a good showing in while out on loan, think we can wave goodbye to Carson TBH.
I think its alot harder to bring through a young goal keeper than we origionally expected. Keep Dudek if he is happy where he is.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Why wave goodbye to Carson? He's been a cracking keeper. I think he could dislodge Reina.

I agree especially after Reina's shaky start, although he's looked more settled now.

I'd sooner wave goodbye to Dudek, too many crucial errors in big games. Even in Istanbul he had a terrible 90 minutes followed by a wonder save in extra time and an amazing shoot out.

Carson has earned his opportunity in my opinion whereas Dudek has had his.

Problem is we can't have both, Carson won't want to come back to bench warm and Dudek apparently is happy with his current situation, so what do you do?

And we certainly don't want to be changing keepers every couple of games, so there really is no way to keep them all happy.

I think Carson would be happy to come back and fight for his place.
I'd rather have 2 keepers battling for top spot than 1 number 1 and a keeper who is content to sit on the bench. competition is healthy.

Alot depends on how this season pans out for both Reina and Carson.Rafa has showed before that he's ruthless with signings he's made that haven't worked out so if Reina continues to be dodgy and Carson keeps doing well then I think he'll get his chance.

Scotty's got a massive future ahead of him me thinks.
One drawback in terms of his prospects with us, Reina's only 4 years older hence he'll be about for a long time,
still i hope he makes it with us, he's got everything going for him.

Pepe will only stay around if he performs. He's had a great first season, he's yet to emulate that this season, but his first season demands that he is given time to regain his form.
However, people forget that Rafa also signed Carson and was bold enough to throw him into a HUGE game against Juve in the Champions League. If Carson is good enough he will get a chance and if he takes it Reina will be on the bench.

Another reason I want Carson to make it is because he's English, and I don't mean that in a racist way. Just it's nice to have quality English players in an English team.

But like all top players, would Pepe like to stay here (ie abroad from home country) for a long time, or take the opportunity to go home and play for a big spanish club and try to claim the number 1 jersey for Spain?

Both goalies went to the WC as back up, I bet both would like to go to the next one as number 1 choice.
