He's not a gander, he's a duck and has a name. You're right that he is usually up at this time now, since he found a job.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Our tactics vary all through games under Kenny

I keep saying this but it was always a feature of his teams when he managed first time round

They often lined up 4-4-2 only to switch to 4-3-3 and back again frequenrly during games

Take 86 as an example you had a midfield 4 of..

            Johnston Molby McDonlad Whelan

Often Whelan would tuck in and Johnston would go and play upfront alongside Rush & Kenny

Same in 87-89 midfield 4 of

            Houghton, McMahon, Whelan, Barnes

Often Houghton would tuck in and Barnes would be pushed upfront

We've been doing this a lot this season with Henderson coming inside and Downing pushing on

Even on Sunday Maxi was tucking inside and making a 3 in midfield at times whilst Kuyt & Bellamy were pushing on, it was even more obvious when Henderson came on because he joined a 3 with Adam & Lucas and allowed Kuyt & Maxi to push up to support Suarez

I'd actually like to see Downing given a bit of role up front or just off the front two I think he would be deadly.

He's pretty good on both feet but if he was running on to through balls he'd bury the chances I reckon.

I reckon this is pretty much how it is, though doesn't this require both a certain level of intelligence from the players and a lot of work to adapt to such fluidity?

I'd like to see us stick with that approach and keep Downing and Carroll as plan B. The high tempo, high pressing game suits the big games so I'd stick with the same team.
Same here unless Stevie is full ready to start.

Another possibly alternative would be to use Jay as Lucas and Jay partnership shined brightly last time we played them but other than that, I'd stick with the same team as against Chelsea more less.

I would possibly entertain that idea but I am not sure how we can fit him in.

If we drop Adam I think it would be unfair given his impact in the last game and if we would drop Kuyt we may be way too defensive and invite the pressure too much.

I'd like to see henderson start in the hole position and rotate with adam, Henderson is just as ready to start games as spearing is imo and henderson is more of an all-rounder. Personally i always prefer an attacking mentality to a defensive one.

Look at that front four City have got,

                            Dzeko
                            Nasri - Aguero - Silva

FFS, and Toure in midfield, that's one good team.

It was a loose 4-2-3-1 (Maxi left, Dirk right, Bellamy off Suarez) at Chelsea, or maybe a 4-4-1-1. Kuyt was very high up the pitch and Bellamy clearly dropped off Suarez. Never in a million years 442.
