I'd start with that team, too. Henderson is a better footballer than Kuyt so let's see what he can do with less defensive responsiblity. Switch Kuyt in if we are getting over-run in midfield and need more energy, or bring Carroll on and drop Suarez back if we need to change things up.

I put Hendo in before Kuyt in my team. But after much deliberation Kuyt took the edge for panicking less in front of goal than Hendo. I can already visualise Hendo, one on one with the keeper, on his left foot. Looking the keeper straight in the eyes. Then passing the ball sideways to Suarez only to realise Suarez isn't there and instead two defenders have caught up.

Rather than for goal-scoring ability, I've got Henderson in the middle with the purpose of making killer passes out wide and through the centre. He has shown, although sporadically, that he's got a good range of passing, and I think this should be encouraged.

I think Hendo and Downing will feature though. Poor Maxi.

A repeat of last season would be very nice, don't see how Maxi can be dropped after his last few performances and how he played again them last season

I think Henderson is technically more sound and a bit more agile than Kuyt. Kuyt's movement, intelligence, work rate and experience probably gives him the edge though.

alot of felxibility in that, i think dalglish will probably theoretically line up with these players but bellers up top with suarez and maxi left mid with kuyt right.

I think its now or never for spearing, this is his big chance. Personally though i think henderson would excel in this role beside adam, some will claim its weak defensively but henderson has played as a defensive mid before, his "D" may not be his strength but at the same time i think he can defend quite well.

You get a bit more defensive cover with spearing, but i think what lucas did so well against city was keep things ticking over constantly, it really helps the likes of maxi and kuyt come into the game and i reckon that after lucas, henderson is the second best player in the squad at keeping the game flowing with short-medium range passing.
