He does need to do more defensively. If he's going to be playing 'the Lucas role' he needs to sit a bit more than he is doing tonight.

He is not a bad player, but he is miles behind Lucas in quality still. He has left Fulham too much space around the box.

Clear glaring hole defensively IMO. He's letting the game, and the ball, pass him by.

He's alright when we have the ball but contributes very little without it, his "tenacious" appearance is a bit deceptive.

harsh. he's obviously not at lucas's level, but its his first league start of the season. he's come in and we're playing a different formation as well so its leaving him as the lone player at times. he's playing well but could do better. nowt wrong with that. suarez is a **** scorer compaired to rush. unfair?

We are missing Lucas here. You can see where he should be as Dempsey is getting too much room between the midfield and defence.

Henderson has upped his game too, with both him and Adam alternating in dropping deep and picking the ball up; it's giving us a nice balance. We've tried to switch it occasionally with the long diagonal, but accuracy has let them down. Spearing mopping up has worked in patches, but we are giving them too much space in front of our backline.

To be fair to Spearing, this is probably his first big game without Lucas alongside him. NO doubt he'll learn from this, much like I'm sure Lucas did once he lost Mascherano and even Alonso beside him.

well if Lucas is as good as many make out, it's obvious we'll miss him. we have to adjust our game accordingly. we will have to start scoring more as we will concede a few.life.
