score? you know that thing that you expect your expensive south american player to do! yes he's playing well outside the box but he's been worse than woeful today with his shots.

But you seem to be singing Carroll's (our most expensive player, ever) praises as if he will straight away turn the game round for us.

Suarez is a creator thats being deployed as an out and out goalscorer imo, he has it in his locker to score a couple of goals we really do rely on him too much.

See my other post, we need a goalscoring striker.

Loads of possession, couple of decent chances that should have been scored earlier.
What happened at the end there, with a ball just allowed to go across their 6 yd box is indicative of our finishing really.
Still might be a goal here for us, but we really need to get at them straight away again, and not slip into the usual lull with the kick in the bollocks from the opposition.

Average performances all round, with no real standout performances so far, but we've not been threatened at all which shows you the quality we're up against.
Downing has had a couple of crosses during the first half, but holds up the play sometimes rather than being on the front foot.....Suarez needs to understand that he has team-mates, as there were more than a couple of occasions he could have crossed rather than shot....his passing is a little off today as well. 6.5/10 all round......still need a goal.

It's strange but I always think Carroll gets played in games where his ability is not suited and therefore misses out in playing games( ie todays), where I think he would do quite well.

couldn't agree more. out of this and fulham, this was the one he should have started imo.

this is sort of game we've played for years and a certain s gerrard would come to the rescue. we need goals, shelvey, bellamy & carroll all on.
