I'm not convinced SWP would have cut the mustard.

I really wanted him to sign, but I am not at all disappointed he didn't now...

I thought Maxi and Suarez linked up wonderfully together. Maxi should start every game, his movement and his ability to run off the ball into dangerous positions is evident every match. He was unlucky to not get a goal/

I'm not at all sure he could even have reached the mustard.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I watched the full 90 minutes last night on LFCTV and I thought we looked very flat tbh like something was missing. Fatigue ?

Downing has nothing in his repertoire that Maxi and Bellamy don't have so why on earth did we spend 20 million on him ?? Awful, awful signing.

In an ideal world Henderson would not be starting games as I still don't believe he's quite ready. He looked good as an impact sub against Chelsea in the league, IMO that's the role should be playing but Lucas' injury has changed circumstances.

Our back 4 and Pepe were excellent as always.

Adam is constantly improving and did well on Saturday.

We need to spend big money in January IMO. A class striker and DM are priorities. Our midfield is wafer thin right now, I know that Stevie is due back but he isn't a DM and Spearing is not good enough to do that role on his own so we need someone like Lass or the lad from Porto, Fernando I think he's called.

Obviously a striker is a must but I'm not sure who is available in January to a club without CL football. Signing Suarez last January I think is proof that genuine quality is available in January but it will be difficult no doubt.

I must have been watching a different game because I thought the exact opposite to most of this

I too was thinking I must watch the match again on TV as I'm not used to watching streams and assumed it must have affected my perception.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I also watched it again yesterday, I thought we looked comfortable throughout the 90 minutes. Didn't think we were as dynamic as we have been recently but can't really see why folks were having a go about how poor we were during the match thread. I know watching it live the nerves are kicking in, watching it again in the cold light of day does give you a clearer perspective of the game.

I thought we were flat and that a certain something was missing. 3 points and another clean sheet is encouraging but I thought the overall performance lacked the passion of our better performances this season - Chelsea x2, Stoke CC etc.

Oh and you disagree that Downing is bang average ? Fair enough.

I thought we were bright, had some good interplay, created chances and should have battered them

I don’t rate Downing but Saturday was one of his better games, he was far more effective & productive than he has been recently

Though as a team I thought we sat back too deep in the last 15 mins.

We play some good football but lack cutting edge.

Sums up our season really I think people have mentioned previously the only game we've played badly in was the Spurs game, we have probably done enough to win all the other games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
