Nice to score a couple of goals early on, and not have to worry that we aren't going to score or win. It was very comfortable.

I had hoped that given we'd got a couple of early goals we'd have gone on and got a few, I had hoped that today would have been the day where we hammered someone.

But given that we have a busy fixture schedule over the next few weeks I guess it made sense not to tire the players out. We could have easily won by more Suarez was extremely unlucky not to get two today. I just wish we could stop hitting the woodwork.

In the end it was a good result and we were comfortable.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Another win, another 3pts (which is what matters most).

Didn't see the game but sounded like a stroll in the park for us, even with a team full of mediocrity.

Great win (missed the first half), but in the second half, we were great, till Suarez went off. We have no real threat or guile when he is off the pitch.

Unlucky Suarez, could have had two. I actually thought Downing played well, passing was good and he kept the game ticking over in midfield. Bellamy was the best on the pitch and Glen Johnson is improving with every game. Full strength I think we could have had 5 or 6 because Aston Villa were dire.

Me too, still needs to do more, notably not turning round and passing back when he has a chance to go at goal, but overall thought he was alright, his corner for the goal, incredible pass to set up Suarez, few shots etc.

He started the 2nd half well, but he faded very badly with about 20 mins to go.

Thought Bellamy and all our backline were superb. If we had of been playing a decent team the trio in teh middle of Adam/Hendo/Shelvey would have got their arses handed to them. Not one of them can defend the middle of the park, thank christ we were playing Villa and have a run of game that are kinder than most, nice that our defence is rock solid though.

Suarez has looked off the pace in last few games but was desperately unlucky, that chip was outstanding. Hoping Kenny is resting Maxi for Wigan, worst game Downing has played for Liverpool and that's saying something. Bellamy was class today, love him at LFC!
Bar the early free kick for a stupid challenge from behind, I thought Adam did ok defensively. 3 tackles won out of 3 according to Guardian and 6 interceptions, although I don't know why a foul doesn't count as a missed tackle.

I also felt a bit sorry for Downing earlier in the game as there were multiple times when he was in a great position, just to be ignored by his teammates. I don't know if the frustration got the better of him, but he was terrible after that, both on and off the ball.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Very easy 3 points and no test whatsoever...Only down side is really that we only scored 2 and both fom set pieces.........Still 3 points in the bag and we can still go above Arsenal if they lose by 2 goals or more.....I've had worst weekends.

Thought Downing stood up well to the boo boys. I didn't get that - they seemed to be singing "One greedy *******.."

Of course the fact that Villa are ****, they have a **** manager and never made any signings didn't enter his head.

Stupid brummies still think they're big time. They're like the Aberdeen of England. Won a Euro trophy a million years ago and still deluded that they're elite.

                          ****wits.

I'm a fan of Adam, but i really worry about our CM defensively without Lucas, or even Spearing in there against a decent side. Shelvey ain't a starter for me by any means & Hendo needs to do more, glad our run of games is favourable.

I just thought we looked bit all over the place in the centre of the park. I just don't see it with Downing to be honest mate, too placid/timid for me, mentality just isn't there IMO. Take them 3 points though happy days, two wins on the bounce!!

He seems to have a knack for spotting the ball early and making an interception, thoroughly enjoyed that part of his game today. He had one good run on goal where I thought he was going to score but to be honest he should have passed to Shelvey who was making a great run. You always know Adam is going to have a go himself though, and usually he'll make the most of it.

He did pretty well in the first half but in the second I thought he slowed down our attacking too much, maybe because he was always looking for the chance to cut inside. He did tackle back pretty well too. He always does well when the team is playing well but doesn't really help when we're not.
