Bellamy had a cracking year for us and is in great form as displayed at the Olympics.

I think singling me out as part of your noble quest to jump on anyone who posts anything you see as vaguely negative, is more than a little harsh... Especially as your quite capable of doing it when it suits you.

Thanks for the pointless "lack of intellect" insult though.

Not his fault that no one wants J Cole, Adam, Spearing, Downing etc.

If Bellamy goes, with Maxi, and Kuyt already gone we're losing alot of experienced players and a significant goal contribution. Those three despite not being regulars in the team contributed 20 goals last season in all competitions and 12 in the league (a quarter of all our league goals). That will take some replacing.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He wants them, at least he said how he sees Joe Cole as an integral part of his team. And Downing as well? And I don't see how lower PL clubs wouldn't want Adam or Spearing, at least we could pay them off like we did with Aquilani (who's in my opinion better then all four of them). Meanwhile we've made no effort to keep Maxi or Bellamy who've scored regularly for us, or even Kuyt who's always given his last strenght if not goals.

We are 3 years away from CL, & thats only if BR can get mid table players performing (AKA pardew @ NEWC) for consecutive years. TBH i have never been more pessimistic in the 40 years i have supported the reds, than i am now about out team

Word is he has rejected a £60K/week contract from QPR and accepted £30K/week to help Cardiff get promotion this season.

                        I wouldn't trust that tweet/rumour.

Not yet at least as someone else also tweeted that he had medical too done today.

FFS! Cannot believe we are letting him go again! ****ing bull****, of all the players we can let go we release one who is actually effective at what he does and has little sell on value. Total BULL****

What I don't get is that we are allowing him to leave on free, if we assume those rumours are true.

I thought he signed 2-year contract and with a year left we should be getting some fee unless we are really that stupid to let him go for nothing.

There is this bizarre article which states we have agreed to let Bellamy go to Cardiff for free and pay part of this wages.

Cardiff City are anxiously waiting in the wings to snap up former loanee Craig Bellamy if and when he is able to secure an exit from Anfield but that 'if' is becoming increasingly a 'when' after Liverpool have now agreed a deal 'in principle' to cancel the remaining year on Bellamy's £80k per week contract.

Bellamy has always remained keen on a move back to Cardiff City, and that may well be a condition of Liverpools acceptance of the deal. The Reds will be required to make a 'significant' payment to Bellamy, thought to be around the equivalent of £25k per week over the season. That, plus the bumper wage package City have prepared specifically for Bellamy, would see him not lose out too much and Liverpool would save the remainder of his significant wage - which could then be used to sign another player.

Many bookmakers have stopped taking bets on a Bellamy return to Cardiff City. Liverpool, like Manchester City before them, are clearly taking a financial hit to suit the play - directly benefitting Cardiff City FC. Liverpool could make the deal even sweeter by preventing him signing for any other Premiership club as part of his contract termination. That would scupper any late bids from the likes of Fulham and Mark Hughes' QPR who were hoping that the lure of Premiership football might have swayed Craig.

Following Team GB's exit from the Olympics, Bellamy is now free to concentrate on sorting his club future out with further discussions with Liverpool planned this week to determine the finer points of the contract termination. Following that, he is expected to undertake a medical and formalise his return to Cardiff City - with a likely completion date of next week.

Whisper it quietly. Craig Bellamy is coming home...
