It seems these days not matter what the club does and says the narritive from the fans is just pure negativity and will probably remain that way to we get in the top 4 places and stay there

No issues with Bellamy going if he's doing it to be closer to his family. It's a pain for us as he's a good player but if his wife and kids are 200 miles away then it's only fair that he goes.

Paying up his contract (or a percentage of it) is bollocks though.

why on some level we want him to go aswell regardless of what has been said publically ... it looks like we have shaved off 20 Million in Wages alone from a handful of bit part players on the wrong side of 30 ... Bravo FSG Bravo !!

Up with FSG ... Down with all the Dopey Fans !!

I really don't see why fans should be happy with improved financial figures per se. It's only good from our standpoint if the money is spent on improving the squad.

The problem with us as I see it and some other people, is not the ammount we spend on Wages .. its on how we spread it about ... too many just Alright players are on stupid money ...

I would rather we take the money we saved on those four players and reinvest it in top dollar young bright talent

I suspect thats the plan ...

                Has he actually said that???

I'm even more worried if that is true

I don't know about integral but he said he wants to keep him and that he sees a role for him at the club. I don't know if he meant carrying everyone's drinks or cleaning their boots, but so far he's started in most matches, so...

I'd be disappointed if he does leave, but as you say if he wants to leave for those reasons us paying up some of his contract is a joke. I think that something needs to be done about the paying off of contracts and loyalty bonuses though, because our experience of them this summer in particular shows the flaws in the system.

The other thing I wonder is when was the decision about Bellamy taken, because letting an old player, on high wages go seems fine in isolation, but when you consider we have also let both Kuyt and Maxi go in similar circumstances the effects could be huge. I wonder if we knew Bellamy was likely to go before we let both Kuyt and Maxi go?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The Bellamy thing does seem to have come out of the blue.

I'm not sure though mate, I think we're determined to get the wage bill down and with all three players seemingly wanting to leave then it works well for all parties.

Apart from us. Who are paying off these players. Players who haven't been replaced and could've contributed something next season.

The Bellamy to Cardiff thing was already being talked about before the Olympics. I think he'd already decided it by the end of the season by all accounts.

Ah yeah true, you're right it was discussed before the Olympics. I meant that the Maxi and Kuyt rumours were kicking around towards the end of the season, before the Bellamy one's. I think.

If by out of the blue you mean been on the cards for the past 12 months then yes it has come as a big surprise

We're talking about a guy here who spends his entire waking life permo-bladdered. Pavements catch him by surprise on an almost daily basis

Eh? He signed a two-year contract a year ago and the Cardiff rumours really only started a month or so ago.
