I'd like to add Nigel was spot on about the pitch. called it early doors and kenny mentioned it at the end. no excuses as its the same for both teams but I think it stopped some of our slickness.

He was bad today but I thought Downing had the worst game since he joined us.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThat was ****. Adam's poorest performance for a while. Set pieces FFS. Massively disappointed. We say this **** all the time but 6 points out of 6 in the next two is an absolute must. We always put pressure on ourselves with these draws against **** teams.
It was painful to watch him. No idea what to do with the ball, couldn't take the man, couldn't cross, would receive the ball, took his time and then pass backwards etc.
Very, very poor today.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

They were gash at the beginning of the game when under pressure and constantly giving possession away. They only came back into it because we didn't mantain the same tempo, and because the players we've got (in midfield) aren't really all that good at defending and closing down space, the Wigan players took full of advantage of that space they were getting in midfield and gained more and more confidence from it.Originally posted by MrNice View PostWigan are a tidy side in form at present, just our luck we play them now. They put Chelsea under the kosh, get you head around this, They are a Premiership side, there are no **** **** sides in the Premiership.
But we were poor, if we had of kept up that pressure we would have got our rewards but too many players were not up to scratch tonight. It happens, we move on, another point to add to the tally

First time I can remember someone getting the best of Enrique, it only happened once mind, but that was telling, players making mistakes all over the pitch, that was a team loss. Still not ideal but not the end of the worldAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Same old story tonight. We just don't have enough players, in attacking sense, who are going to make a difference. My stream wasn't great I couldn't be sure Downing or Henderson were on the pitch for about half an hour! Enrique seems to be giving us more going forward than Downing!
It's obvious to everyone what we need. A goal scorer, cover for Lucas and a wide attacking player (someone class). And in that order. The first two are surely a must.
I also though Adam had one of his worst games for us. It wasn't just the penalty. His all round play just seemed very sloppy to me.K ris90210

Sure, cant argue with that, it was poor performance I can have no complaints. I've said this several times this season and without his legs and workrate he's as good as finished. he looks sluggish, its probably why he isn't a regular starter anymore.Originally posted by Chris View PostIs anyone a bit worried Dirk's legs are going? Sorry Nige but we didn't control the game, oftentimes we were completely overrun in midfield (as has been the case without Lucas)& altho we started brightly, the pattern was familiar & predictable.
We weren't completely terrible, just a long, long way short of good enough for even 4th, let alone 1st.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm hoping it's just a lack of confidence as he's been in and out really but he is 31 and a bit, it always seems to be the players with a mental work rate who decline first.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI've said this several times this season and without his legs and workrate he's as good as finished. he looks sluggish, its probably why he isn't a regular starter anymore.
