We werent terrible but we werent great

Still could have won mind but once again finishing (and penalties let us down)

Thought it was an off day for a lot of players Adam, Kuyt, Maxi, Downing were all well below par

Thought Suarez and Henderson put a shift in but not much more than that

Wigan played really well and their defending was excellent. I still think we completely dominated the game bar a spell in the first half between the half hour mark and half time when we lost our grip. It's not good enough to dominate like this and still not win mind but I don't think there's too much cause for concern - plenty of cause for frustration mind.
      Are we winning?

Either way, it doesn't matter if do control games or play good football, we still don't enough to win games, no cut and thrust.

Generally I'd disagree with the comment of "no cut and thrust" but today it was proably the case

This season our biggest problem is finishing, we've created enouugh chances in most games to comfortably win them (maybe not today) but we havent

still manages to be almost exciting when you think we're 2 or 3 players away, and there's a window in like a week. **** way to let 2 points slip away, but it's only december and we're still in with a shout. roll on the january window.

I'm gonna have to brush my teeth and go to bed. When I wake up sober(ish) tomorow this result is gonna kill me. ****, I'm in so much trouble tomorrow, maybe I should stay up.

              Ahhhhh ****.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

there was a one on one for glen johnson and a missed pelanty. i'd say we could have win comfortably if we hadn't managed to pick out al-habsi on both occasions.

Thats my overwhelming feeling for the entire season

Over the years we've experienced disappointment, anger, apathy but this season I am relatively content with our general play

Just frustrated that we havent managed to put away more games

Even just looking at penalty misses alone we could be 4 points better off

                    Yes agree in part

We created fewer chances today than in previous drawn games, but still could have won

8.5% - Liverpool have the lowest goals-to-shots ratio in the Premier League this season (Best: Man City 21.9%, Average: 13.6%). Wasteful

We were poor today, but I think we probably did enough to win the game if we'd been able to score. Our defence is solid, despite the clear problems with the lack of a defensive midfielder. There is too much space between the midfield and the defence we need to address that as better teams will punish us, so far I think we've been lucky to get away with it (except the Fulham game).

Clearly our problem is the lack of ability to score goals, I've mentioned this before, but if we had scored the penalties we missed against Sunderland and Wigan, we'd be level on points with Spurs despite the other results.

The other thing is we are incapable of putting a run of results together, we haven't been able to win more than two games back to back, and from any run of 4 league games we've never picked up more than 8 points out of 12. We need to be able to put a good run of results together, at the moment we don't look like doing that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Too many times this season we say if only blah, blah, blah...it's happening too often to be a coincidence. We just need that better bit of quality in all areas. We need to strike the ball better and hit the target more often, need to pass a bit more accurate and a bit more crisper. We need to make the right decisions, cross better etc. We are good but need to be better, we need better quality.

It was painful to watch him. No idea what to do with the ball, couldn't take the man, couldn't cross, would receive the ball, took his time and then pass backwards etc.

                              Very, very poor today.
Barring Enrique none of them were good but Downing was terrible

Since we have signed him he has shown glimpses of being a decent player, a few nice runs, decent shots, crosses etc but i have doubts that he will ever be a consistent performer for us

I was underwhelmed when we signed him, i feel the same about him now

What saddens me is we've been like this for years.

Look at United tonight, they demolished a team tonight 0-5 that we struggled against a few weeks back.

We will get better and are playing much better but we need to be ****ing ruthless, have more cunning and guile and play with some swagger and confidence like the teams of old.

There is some self belief missing from the players - it's almost as though they don't think they are good enough and they need to change that mentality moving forward.

It must be difficult for these guys because of the burden and weight of expectation on their shoulders. Years of history and success is what our guy's have to cope with every time they step out on the pitch.
