    4th Place or Silverware. You decide!

    So. If you could only have one of these this season, which would you choose?

    I vote for silverware, trips to Wembley and the experience of winning titles

    LFC finish in 4th place in the league. But do not win a trophy.

    Why can't we have both? it's not like the club has been given the choice of taking one or the other. Anyways, CL qualification is a bigger achievement easily.

        **** me, it's only a poll! Voting on it will not dictate the future. The point of the poll is, finding out what supporters would prefer if only one option were achievable.

        Let's take it as a given that both would be the preferred option.

          ATM we need CL football more in order to get the best players. We have the moey and need to be playing in the CL.

            The thing is we don't decide. That's the fallacy at the heart of this thread.

            It's a disgraceful situation and typical of the xenophobic FA and their anti-Suarez agenda but spreading the myth that it's up to any of us to decide is not going to help.

            Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                Well its silverware for me all day. I dislike the champions league.

                Financially its obvious 4th place would help us. Although even 4th place and the riches that come with it wouldn't even touch the sides of what City can afford to pay. I don't think there's enough top quality players out there to be honest. we're all fighing over the scraps.

                    it is true that we don't decide, its the butterfly flapping his wings on the other side of the world creating all manner of cause and effect.

                    I have a further point about the death of romanticism in football allied to the increasing interest in Supporter debate about balance sheets and owners of sporting institutions, when finishing 4th to gain entry to a competition which is extremely difficult to win is valued higher than winning trophies with equal heritage. Not that I blame supporters for this it is the nature if the beast football has become. I just find it kind of sad that the childhood memoriesI have of the club triumphing at Wembley have become devalued by the money available in the Champions League. Which is why I am making a stand. I hope at the very least we win a cup this season and have something to celebrate, and a nice day out. Looks like I may be on my own.

                        Its got to be the Champions League. The last time we played in that competition was 2009, embarassing for a club of our size.

                          This season I believe its more important to gain CL status so thats what I voted for. I reckon once we gain that FSG will spend again thereby cementing our place in the top 4 & then the trophies will follow.

                          I desperately want us to win silverware but not at the expense of cl qualification.

                              however if the pool said 4th abd win nothing OR 5th and win BOTH domestic cups, id have taken the second one
