Well after a thoroughly unpleasant day yesterday I thought it would be a good time to take stock and count our blessings.
Whilst this whole Suarez episode has a left a bad taste, at least the ban has fallen in as good of a window as possible. If we can manage to erk out a draw against Oldam, by the time we play City in the LG Cup he will have served 5 of those 8 games already. With the remain three games being Stoke Home, Bolton and Wolves away.
The rest could actually turn out to be hugely beneficial, lets not forget he has being going non stop through the Copa America.
Glen Johnson for me has been thee most improved player at LFC this campaign I have seen in years. His positional sense has come on leaps and bounds, tactically he is a lot sharper, even last night he was remonstrating Enrique for dashing forward when he was already in an advanced position on the right flank.
Skirtel has been putting in beastly performances and Agger touch wood is enjoying his longest injury free spell at the club. Whilst some of our purchases have left a lot to be desired, Charlie Adam for me is a quality addition to the club and he is really putting a shift in week in week out, providing excellent service to our front men and putting in a lot of assists from the middle of the park.
We have, bar a couple of goals the best defense in the LG and I am sure we will have the best goals against tally come the end of the season. Great teams are built from the back.
We, all ready have these difficult fixtures out of the way and we are just 3 points off the pace
Arsenal Away - WIN
Everton Away - WIN
Chelsea Away - WIN
Man United Home - DRAW
Man City Home - DRAW
Spurs Away - Loss
Man City Away - Loss
Chelsea on the other hand have to go to
Man City Away
Arsenal Away
Liverpool Away
We are also the least effected team by the African cup, perhaps Suarez can use his time off to take in a few games.
Gervinho will be a big miss for Arsenal and if RVP gets injured they are completly ****ed.
We have just one tricky away game left for the entire season thats United and Possible Suarezs first game back. Obviously all away games in the EPL are tricky but we have already played all but one of the big teams and taken full points of 2 of them
Gerrard is just about back, and boy oh boy does he look good and have we missed him. Moving into the 2nd half of the season our two main competitors for the CL spot right now, have much more diffcult fixture lists to navigate, both of them lose players to the African Cup, both of them are still in the Champions Lg, One of them has quite possibly one of the most inexperienced managers in the game, with one of the oldest squads in the LG. We as a team will only get stronger as the majority of players out there week in week out are new signings or new players this campaign.
We are very much in the hunt for Silverware in a Semi Final and the FA cup and we are positioned strongly to finish in the top 4 in quite possibly the most competitive top half of the league I have seen since the Premiership started.
Kenny ****ing Dalglish is our Manager
We have excellent owners
We have no or very little debt
Whilst we may have shelled out 35 million for Andy, lets not forget he is 21 is it and we got 50 for Torres which now looks inspired
People might disagree but in Henderson we have signed a very very good player who will only grow stronger and stronger
Plus have the KOP and
We are and will always be Liverpool FC
YNWA brother and sisters ... Chin up
