Kuyt, Adam and Downing could all do with an 'easier' game to get some form/confidence back.
Hopefully Stevie can get at least 60 minutes in, I'd like to see some or all of Coady, Wisdom, Sterling on the bench but not sure Kenny think's they are close to being ready.

The only reason I would start with Downing, Kuyt, Adam and Carroll is because I do NOT want to see them start against Man City in the cup. Let them have another game but then they need to make way for the likes of Gerrard, Maxi and Bellamy in the next game.

Games of his suspension are:

1. City last night
2. Olham at weekend
3. City away - carling cup 1st leg
4. Stoke at home in league
5. Bolton away in league
6. City at home - carling cup 2nd leg
7. Wolves away in league
8. Spurs at home in the league

so i think if we get to the 4th round, then he'll also be back for the spurs match........

To be honest, we should be confident enough of Stoke at home, and Bolton & Wolves away without Luis...... it might actually work in our favour in the long run - he might come back fresh and become a bit more prolific in front of goal to go with his industry....

I'd expect to see Carragher, Coates, Kelly, Shelvey come in for this one, it would also be good if we could give Robinson a game at LB, I also saw it mentioned somewhere that Flanagan could play as a defensive midfielder, perhaps that would be worth giving a try in this game?

I doubt Gerrard and Bellamy will play in this one or if they do it will probably be a few mins from the bench (or because we're in trouble).

Does anyone know why Doni hasn't been given a game in any of the cup games yet?

I want to win 10-0 and show that we can win even without Suarez and I also want to be sure that we win a trophy this season.

It's not like the team has been perfect whilst Suarez has been playing. We need to sort out how we are going to score goals with or without Suarez.

I would've thought it was plainly obvious. Our reserves can go and win at Oldham in a replay, so the '10 players' to play an extra game would be no hardship.

By your logic, we should lose to Oldham so we dont progress to the next round and have to force our poor players to play an extra game.

I like this team.

Perhaps Doni in for Reina and Spearing for Adam.

Build up Gerrard's match fitness and hopefully get a confidence-boosting performance from both Downing and Carroll, with the latter getting amongst the goals to take off some pressure.

Firstly I don't think we will use 11 fringe players, we'll use some first team players. Secondly I think we should win, not lose, because I prefer to win than to lose or draw.
Thirdly I don't see any benefit in trying to create an extra game just so Suarez can play in a different game.

We should just try to win the game as convincingly as possible and work out how we are going to win the other 6 games that we need to win without Suarez. We also need to figure out how we are going to be more convincing even when Suarez is playing anyway.

I'm sorry that Suarez got banned and it's a farce what happened but we aren't a one man team. In fact in the past when a player got injured or suspended at Liverpool they had to worry whether they would get back into the team.

It shows how far down we've gone when not only are we 100% certain that Suarez will get straight back into the team as soon as he's available but we even want to draw a game because you think we'll somehow be better off for it.
