Maybe I put that wrong, its not that City didn't deserve to win but they didn't deserve the flattering scoreline. Nor did they even do a decent job despite us missing Suarez and having current-day Kuyt on the pitch. They won, end of, but that doesn't tell the whole story with their 'full team'.Originally posted by dww View PostOr the fact that they totally controlled where we played and we created nothing. There was fortune to two of their goals but I'm buggered if I can see how anyone can claim that the Toure one was anything but a well executed corner.
I'm with Craig they will put out a very good team no matter what the situation. Two of our most productive players (Gerrard and Bellamy) need to be carefully managed and no one else can really claim creative or goalscoring for in our squad. It'll be a tough game that an objective observer would have us second favourite for in my opinion.
Bellamy is dynamite! Everyone's talking of Silva's influence, or Modric, or Aguero so far this season. But this little package has gone unnoticed. Whether its playing one twos with Suarez and Maxi, or taking set pieces, or scoring difficult but necessary goals.
And Gerrard is STILL better than Silva or Aguero. These two alone can win us the match. And they'll occupy at least three City players, leaving spaces for Enrique and GJ. Tough game for City tonight.
One tit for another.
